Better yet, take a cue from these guys and start doing it ourselves.

Spam bots are a huge problem on forums right now. Many of them can read standard captcha images. More noisy captcha is required than many forum programs offer.

On my forum I moderate new registrations and review a required registration field asking people why they want to join. To my surprise, I haven't had any bots even complete their registration with that required field.

This version of UBB is so old its not even funny. I haven't had access to the FTP that hosts it in god knows how long. Everytime I asked Bini for access to it again, it just never happened (I think he forgot too lol).

So, I just shut off new registrations. I figure the only people who would want to register are spambots or friends of ours. And of course you guys will let me know if someone is trying to register.
