What a great series. Even after game one I predicted the Tigers in four.

I'm terribly excited to see the Yankees lose. Bout time Steinbrener gets a lesson. All that moiney and just goes to show, you can't buy that championship. That much all-star talent on one team, never gonna work. Instead of the team being the center all season, one of the many all-stars who had one great week (and it was all him) is quickly forgotten the next week when he has no hits. I honestly feel bad for A-Rod, because he's meant to be the team's back-bone. But that's Jeter's job (which he's excellent in). Jeter's greatness was defined because he earned his success while playing in a Yankee's jersey. Unlike Alex who's greatness was recognized outside of the Yankees organization.

Ever notice how the guys that the Yankee's bought can never do good when they put that Yankee's jersey on? Its because they went from the Main Headline on their old team to just another MVP on the Yankees. Constantly having to hear the size of their paycheck shoved down their mouth by an angry boss along with millions of psychotic Yankee's fan (that take it wayyy to seriously).

What made the Yankee's win so much years ago was because the talent they had, they made. As soon as they started buying everyone elses talent (A-Rod, Johnny Damon,, etc..) they havn't won shit. They weren't a team all season. Everytime they got mentioned this season, it was the heroics of one player (which always happened to involve another Yankee's name that potentially blew the game). Not one single story described a team. All I read was the incredible or disasterous game that one player had that determined whether the Yankee's won or loss.

Suck on that Steinbrener.

I loathe the Yankees, too, but I amn't really in much of a position to stick it to them given the Red Sox historical (annual) meltdown. Hard to believe, or maybe I mean it's disgusting to think, that the difference between the Yankees and the Sox annual payroll this year was about $90mm. How many whole teams can you get for that? And still they cannot buy a World Series.

Miss you guys.

My son plays for a local 13/u travel-baseball team here in SoCal. His coach just got called up to the Oakland A's starting roster...kinda cool, I guess. But no more practice for a little while...

Doubt he gets much playing time, but who knows.

Mark Kiger (I think he is going to wear #8)

I predict the Tigers in 6 for this series.

I'm fairly positive the Tigers will go all the way this year and win the world series.
