I just took delivery of a collectors edition of Scrabble from eBay. I was at home for the delivery since it required a signature. I checked the pieces immediately and found that there were only 99 tiles, there should be 100. It gets worse. I checked each tile and it turns out that there are 8 missing tiles and 7 extras! For example, there are 8 D's instead of 4 and no F's, G's or H's. It's a fuck up. The seller tells me this is an issue of 1 tile since the listing specified 100 tiles and I have 99. Who cares if the tiles are correct though, huh?I want my money back and she (the seller) has filed a case with UPS because of the missing tile even though I have told her on multiple occassions that this is about more than a single missing tile. She either doesn't get it or doesn't care. I'm gonna see what her next step is but I want to return the game and I don't want to pay shipping either since it's not my fuck up. Anybody had any experience with this sort of thing and how did it work out for ya? If she fucks me around much longer then I am going to eBay and Pay Pal to see what I can do. -------------------- Miss you guys.

Talk to ebay.[edit] Sorry, that was a little terse. eBay has a grievance process that apparently works rather well. See what they say. Well, I'll try at least two of those suggestions. So far I am giving her ample opportunity yo do the right thing. She's crying to me because she says she has had the set since new and nobody has touched the tiles. Because I dared question what happened to the tiles she now thinks I am being unfair by _almost_ calling her a liar - something I didn't do. All I know is I got the wrong tiles. I can't believe that she thinks that if she gives me 100 tiles that she has upheld her side of the bargain. How the hell can you play Scrabble without any F's, G's or H's? To suggest that you can is absurd especially when you consider this game is being sold as mint condition. It may be in good condition but it's incomplete so, IMO, it's hardly mint. I don't see how I can really lose out here because I think it's quite clear that I am in the right even though she is trying to blame UPS. But before I register an official complaint with eBay and PayPal I just want to give her a little more time to come to her senses. I just sent her another mail since she didn't respond to last night's (she's had 16 hours which I personally think is long enough when you consider the gravity of the issue - we're not talking about a $50 scrabble set here). Depending on how pissy her next mail I will take more steps. I feel before I do that I should fire a warning shot over her bows and at least let her know that she is going to be reported. My main concern now is just getting my money back and NOT paying the return shipping. I won't pay $75 in shipping only to end up with nothing to show for it. GFK ~ I'll give you a call if I need your assistance. (that's a joke in case any Feds are eavesdropping). [ 09-13-2006: Message edited by: Mad Max ] -------------------- Miss you guys.

she didn't answer directly, she's posting messages via eBay so I have started doing the same thing to keep everything on record (e-mails can be forged). She keeps on insisting that UPS want me to hold onto all the packaging, etc. but the stupid cow doesn't get it. 100 tiles - 8 missing tiles = 92 tiles 92 tiles + 7 wrong tiles = 99 tiles She thinks that means she is only obliged to get me one more tile. I know I am repeating myself but I don't care. She's gotta go down. -------------------- Miss you guys.

I guess it all depends on how much money you spent on the Scrabble tiles. Doesn't it? EDIT: just in case it wasn't obvious now, and just in case you are actually being serious, the game in question cost a LOT of money. Check eBay for Franklin Mint Scrabble sets. I think you will find they regularly sell for $500+. Do you still want me to shoot you for griping over that kind of money?
