Basically, I was rushing.. looking behind me thinking I had cleared the gigantic Ford Explorer with massive steel bumpers and coasted into it while backing up in neutral..
Lesson learned: My civic crunches up like a bitch. And to pay more attention where this happened.
On the bright side, I had gotten my new phone that week and thats what took those pictures. Damn nice, imo.

I did almost the same damage to my Passat a few years ago but under slightly different circumstances. My wife's friend had parked her car kinda outside my garage door but there was still room for me to back out. While I was looking behind me I turned too much and bashed the passenger side fender off the side of the garage door surround.
New headlamp - $100 off eBay New fender - $175 from VW (couldn't find it anywhere online) Labour - did it myself Paint - $110
All in all I think it was worth the expense. I sold it soon afterwards and with the crunch I would have lost a lot of money. As it stood I got $300 under book.

Was not on phone. That week was a bad week for me. The previous day I had forgot to take my phone out of my pocket and washed my shorts. So I ordered another one that night and the next day I did this.
Thats not bad Max. Looks like I'm going to spend around $250-300 to fix it myself too. I went to a shop and they estimated it at $800, which is a complete ripoff for just the fender. The labor hours written down are outright ridiculous.

Yeah, I learned at an early age that home mechanics is the way to go. Since I now buy newer cars than when I was younger I have less to do (read: I do NOTHING any more) but back in the day I replaced spark plugs, brakes, rotors, shocks, cv joints, ball joints, etc. My Mom's car blew a head gasket which warped the head so I got that skimmed and rebuilt it. Tight as a nut afterwards. Ahh, the good old days.....

I've done gaskets and rebuilt the upper half of a motor, but I've never touched anything around the transmission or anything behind the wheels other than brakes. Always looked complex.
Yeah burb, I know I need tires. Especially ones that are all the same brand. Shoddy dealer.
