This is embarassing.

My wife watches Americab Idol but because of some techofuckup "Deal or No Deal" recorded instead. I've been searching since last night for a download of last night's epsiode but no luck. It may be too soon. Does anyone have a favourite site / feed that they use? I tried newsgroups too but again it may be too quick because I didn't see anything (last night).

She's going nuts because she's in some pool at work where they vote who's going to be voted out. It's all very sad but she's my wife and I have to try and help her even though she's ultimately destroying herself.

Miss you guys.

I recorded it on DVD last night. I have no idea how to get it to you though.

rip it to an AVI and then ftp it. I have a server that you can use if you can / will do it. Here's the kicker. For it to be of any use I need to get it today.

Thanks, guys. I have an RSS feed from them already but I didn't see anything this morning. I will look again when I get home from work.

I keep going back and forth between BT and usenet. I really don't like BT because of the data transfer limitations but at least it's free unlike usenet which you usually need to pay for if you want decent file completeness and retention. But usenet is not as easy to use* so there are less people on there with files.

* - I know usenet is easy for all of us, I'm talking about the plebians.

the annoying thing about all of this? What I want (for my wife) is not even that much to ask for. She missed her show because of a TiVo malfunction (her words, not mine - I'm still a little dubious about the whole thing). The shows are never repeated late night and are not available for download either. Other than the fact that people cut out commercials I don't think I see any reason why people shouldn't be allowed to share public TV shows with other people who may have missed them. Well, I guess cable companies want people to pay for the service and believe me, we are paying and mostly for a bunch of crap like American Idol! I don't think it will be long before lots of TV is on demand. Hopefully cable subscribers will get access to this content at no extra cost.

EDIT: oh yeah, that stuff above is just my attempt to justify what other may see as copyright infringement or piracy, etc.

I guess the rest of America agrees with me in thinking that the show is basically plop. Can't find a sniff of last night's show anywhere. I guess that's a good thing.

I actually like the show, but the singers aren't quite what I expected them to be this week. I find myself siding with Simon a lot more than usual.

My wife was saying the same thing. Tonight was the first time I watched the show of sound mind and I have to say two things:
1. the kid with the lisp is pish.
2. the guy who went last was awesome.

Yea, Kevin is getting a little annoying. Funny, he hid the lisp pretty well before he got to Hollywood. But seriously, he's lame.

My favorites, in descending order, for the guys are as follows:

Chris (your boy who went last last night)
Elliot (kid who went first or second, sang an incredibly difficult Steve Wonder song very well)
Taylor Hicks (gray hair, looks 50)

It seems the best singers and performers on that show all have real shit going on in their lives, or something difficult that they've been through. There are a couple exceptions (all girls) - but I don't mind rooting for these dudes. They seem like good guys.

Thanks, Dam. I've decided to ditch all bit torrent stuff. There seems to be some concensus that using BT is a little more "dangerous" than usenet so I am goign to stick with that instead. 38 / 60 pieces done so far.
