Hey guys, I've decided to buy a computer before Christmas, I just can't wait any longer!I must know how to tell if a motherboard will accept the AMD Athlon 64 X2 chip, or what happens if you put one in and it's not supported... I was checking out this and it looks pretty good and gets pretty good reviews: http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=13826&vpn=LP-NF4-SLI-DR&manufacture=DFI Can anyone recommend a good motherboard for AMD X2 Chip? -------------------- Talk is cheap, so is my signature.

Jam, just about any nForce4-class board (equivlant VIA and SiS chipsets too) will support a socket 939 dual core. You MAY need to do a BIOS update once you get it up an running though.Might I recommend you don't get that DFI board though. I know that a lot of people rave about it, but the only one I've actually seen had some wacky driver issues. I would get an Asus A8N-SLi Deluxe or an A8N32-SLi deluxe board. I know they're more expensive, but the price/stability trade off is worth it I think. -------------------- “I have noticed even people who claim everything is predestined, and that we can do nothing to change it, look before they cross the road.” “Intelligence is the ability to adapt to change.” --Dr. Stephen Hawking.
