Steph wants a camera phone for Christmas and I just started looking at them. It appears that a 1.3 Megapixel is currently the best although I read Casio is coming out with a 2.0 Megapixel phone soon. She only cares about the phone and the camera. She said she does not care about MP3 capability but I bet she would use that feature if it was there.

I read that the Sony Ericsson S710a is a good choice from this website:

S700a http://www.letstalk.com/product/productpop.htm?prId=28065&servicePrId=29353&noAddToCart=1

Sony Ericsson has this one too:

W600 http://www.letstalk.com/product/productpop.htm?prId=29636&servicePrId=29353&noAddToCart=1

I'm also considering this Motorola model although she does not care about PDA, Internet, Email, etc:

Does anyone have one or a recommendation?

Thanks!

Those phones above cost between $100-150 with a 2 year agreement. Her current contract is up so that is not a problem.

Here is a Motorola with bluetooth headset for $50

This LG is $200.00

I may have found the perfect phone for her. This Samsung is also $200.00 (with a plan) and has a 2.0 megapixel camera with 'optical' zoom.

I bought this one over the summer:

Then I lost the damn thing while in a drunken stupor at a 4th of July party.

I then decided that I won't spend any more money on cell phones, so I dug this out and it is all I need:

My kids laugh at me

I have a Motorola Razr. It only has the 640x480 VGA camera in it. Motorola is going to be releasing a 2.* MP camera in Q1 2006 I believe, almost identical to the V710 I think.

I've never dealt with the Ericsons, but everyone I know that has/had one says they are a pain in the ass to get used to.

That Samsung looks awesome too.

See when I think camera phone, I think of this:

with a phone built into it.

Nice

I don't have any personal experience with the Konica-Minolta stuff, but I understand it's pretty good.

I have a Maxxum 400si 35mm camera and I love it. it takes great photos and is really reliable. I've had that for about 7 or 8 years now. the great thing is that my lenses are compatible with this camera too. I really like the anti-shake feature - lets you take photos down to 1/30 w/o a flash or a tripod =)

I've had a camera phone for a year. I've taken 3 or 4 pictures with it. it sucks.

Nikon is my choice. The D70 and D50 will work with all of my old nikon lenses.

I would stay with Nikon for a high-end camera.

Anyway thanks for trying.

2x, the D200 is comatible with all the nikon AI series lenses, on top of their AI-S, D and DX series lenses.

The D70 is not compatible with AI lenses, it might be compatible with the AI-S lenses, but I'm not sure.
