A bit personal this but I'll ask anyway. How much natural gas do you use? How much do you pay per unit? Our last bill for October was 75 ccf (or 75 therms). October 2004 was 72 therms. We paid $175 this year but last year it was less than 50% of that. I have read about how consumers can expect to pay 25-50% more this winter but we've already seen a 100% increase and that's a little worrying. Projected cost for gas in January? Over $700!?!?!?!?!

Miss you guys.

I will take a look at my latest bill. I know it has been like $60-70/month lately when the furnace was not even on! That's just hot water! That's out of control!

I am used to paying 30, if that when I am not using the heater.

I am.

Alternative energy isn't viable. The sun doesn't shine all the time, the wind doesn't always blow.

/sarcasm.

I have been of the opinion that rising costs at the pump for automobile fuel would be the reason behind an out and out revolt against Oil Companies. After reading your posts, I think that heat/hot water costs are going to be the main reason

I live where it's a newsworthy event when the projected lows dip into the 40's in the winter and only the worst of the arctic storms bring the highs below 60. I think I win.

You could probably heat my whole apartment.
