I don't really use IM but it's typically running in the background. I've noticed a couple of times in the last couple of weeks this message:

"Your screen name (HibsMax) is now signed into AOL(R) Instant Messenger (TM) in 2 locations. To sign off the other locations, reply to this message with the number 1. Click here for more information."

This is suspect because I don't know where the other login is coming from, it's certainly not me. Actually, that gets me thinking. I wonder if I left an instance of Trillian installed on a previous employers laptop. That would be a big OOPS. Anybody know if you can determine where the other session logged in from?

Miss you guys.

and here I thought it was a quest for adding contacts

Sorry, I don't know.

make a new screenname, add your old one to the list, and wait till they come on.

the other "interesting" thing is that even though I see the my account being logged in, I don't see any traffic so this sounds like it's being done by someone without them even knowing it.

The idea of getting a new screenname and sending a message sounds like a top idea, I'll give that a go and see who I get. :P

that's certainly an option but the the investigator in me would like to figure out what is actually going on. He would also like to know how he got inside me in the first place.

Do you have a cellphone logged in to AIM? Sometimes when I forget to log out with my cellphone, my AIM on my PC will keep saying that.
