That sure snuck up on me.

Not expecting much, but I still want to see it.

It won't be that bad if it doesn't take itself seriously. If it's like the first XXX movie (the Vin Diesel one), then it'll at least be entertaining.

I got a free pass from when I saw Serenity (which was really good btw) so I might waste it on that. Then it's like Cineplex Odeon payed me to watch it.

well lots of the scenes will look just like you were in game. I had a trailer for it download on xfire and I mean everything. You have the first person view with just your gun and your hand which we are all so used to seeing in game. Well the camera perspective is just like that. I'll be strange Yeah I'll most likely get it just to stick in my library.

DOOM is, quite honestly, what drew me to computers in 1993. I doubt I'd have studied computer science in college, become a software engineer, or post on this messageboard today if it weren't for DOOM. So I owe it to myself to see this. Besides, I really like The Rock - he's funny shit. Catch him last night on The Daily Show?

Edit - I'm seeing it tonight with TimIsaSexGod and Quakemeat. QMass players might remember them.

He [the Rock] was also great on SNL. Better than some so-called comedians.

Miss you guys.

Saw it, was amused.. not bad, for a video game movie. Tim and Wade and I were saying, afterwards, that there was too much attempted plot development for DOOM. There are already rumors of a Quake2/4-based movie. I hope, if it materializes, it's a bit more true to the /game/, not just the game universe.

Are you speaking about the cast of SNL?

Not only does the fps shot play like a game, but the director must have taken a tape recording of my own playing of Doom 3 because there is also the bitching about of video game cussing. During the line up, I got carded. She was younger than me, but I guess the remark I had made in the line up had tipped her off. I had said, "I'm going to killing one of the audience members if no one dies in this movie."

The whole experience inspires me to play some fps but all I have for my console is Metal of Honour.

DOOM was fucking sweet!

I saw it today with my roomate. I had a few beefs about the storyline but I won't spoiler anything. I would give this movie a solid C+. Definitely good for a video game based movie, since most are really, really awful.

Nope, some of the hosts who come on and bomb. I think the current cast of SNL is very funny.
