I usually laugh at "scary" movies cuz they are sorely predictable, and most times the subject matter just isn't scary. I thought 13 Ghosts was a great comedy. Scream? HiLARious. Blair Witch Project? I fell asleep. The Ring did nothing but suck. The Grudge was kinda creepy, but that's it. Silence of the Lambs was great but only cuz you spend more time trying to solve the murder than running from the murderer, and you knew Lecter was gonna eat somebody's something. But the one thing I can't deal with is dangerous, erratic, unpredictable behavior from a character that isn't supposed to be the bad guy. This movie ranks right up there. Its more of a Law & Order meets The Exorcist, so there's not as much exorcising in the movie as you might guess, but there's enough. I recommend it if you're into scary movies or at least get scared with what I mentioned. As most movies, it has a corny moment or two, but overall the movie does a pretty good job. If you want to look for more info on the real story, the chick's real name is Anneliese Michel. It took some digging, but even with the real name there isn't much English-translated info on the subject. The most you'll find I think will be in print.
