Hey guys, if you're anything like me then you love to cook. I was wondering what was on the menu tonight? I am visitng the lovely Julianna this weekend and decided to make some dinner for her tonight.

Heres what I am making

- Fried Chicken with a little Lemon-zest
- Breaded Broccoli
- Mashed Potatoes

I think that should make a nice dinner. I love fried chicken. Whats on your dinner plate tonight?

Well, I had to travel the ferry, so I ate a White Spot burger (Legendary Burger w/ Cheese) and Fries (unfortunately, no salad) and a Root Beer.

Normally, I don't cook that much. Not left to my own devices. I will just nuke something that comes out of a can.

I make a fantastic omlet when I'm in the mood though. I'm also very good at making pasta sauces of all kinds.

Thnx Xan, now I'm hungry.

Tried a new sushi bar near my place. It was quite good. The sake (salmon), saba (mackerel), and spicy teka maki (tuna) were awesome. Saporo and hot Sake for drinks.. and I'm spent.

I cook, usually fish, but not often. <3 seafood

6 beers, a couple of Little Debbie peanut butter-chocolate thingies.

Now I'm off to Pechanga (Indian Gaming Casino) to play a little Texas Hold 'em.

The casino is only about 5 miles away...very tempting.

Frozen pizza.

Cooking is fun, but it takes guests or something before I can actually bother.

I can't really imagine fried chicken and mashed potatoes on the same plate. Mashed potatoes is such a ground beef food, while chicken is more at home with rice or maybe fries. I made some excellent chicken a couple weeks back. Take two 2dl cans or cream, two pepper cheese chunks and two cubes of condensed bouillon, mix em all together and melt in a pot. Fry the chicken, and dump it into the sauce. Then cook some rice to go with the chicken. Also cooked some cauliflower, then topped with pepper and cream cheese and grilled in the oven. Man, we were stuffed after that meal...

Only thing I cook is enchiladas. The wife cooks everything else. Come to think of it, since I showed her how to make those, I don't even have to cook that anymore.

Tonight I am making sushi quality tuna steaks seared only about 1/8" around the outter surface (90%raw inside)with a lime-ginger-cilantro sauce. Served on top a julliene (sp?) cut dakon radish), sweet red bell pepper mix and garlic/rosemary smashed potato on the side.

Sorry Xan, I never got back to you on the sauces.

I'm a tradionalist, so either a Tomato based Meat Sauce w/ Ground Beef or Ground Pork, or a Tomato sauce in which Meatballs have been simmering for several hours. And I'm not afraid to use lots of garlic. 4-5 cloves MINIMUM. Usually 7-10, but it depends on how much sauce I'm making.

I also REALLY like Penne Alfredo, and Fettucini and Pesto or Liguini and Pesto, whichever is handy. Pesto is so easy to make too, it's just fresh basil, garlic, pine nuts, parmigiano and olive oil. Throw said ingredients in blender, then serve. I make a kickass Alfredo sauce too .

Parmigiano-Reggiano to be precise.

I make Pesto from my own sweet basil plants and freeze it in ice cube trays. Two plants produce more leaves than any normal human would ever want. This year I have just one plant.
