The first video card I have purchased in at least 3 years is on its way.I've not been playing any computer games in quite sometime, so I haven't had the need for a decent one, really. Every now and then, though, I look at my Doom3 box I purchased last year, and I really want to play it. I have a reasonable processor (P4 3.00), but the FX5200 card just won't cut it. So, I was perusing NewEgg the other day, and realized that I am so far behind the times, that it won't cost me very much to make a huge leap forward. Anyway, my shiny new 6600GT should be here in a couple days.

I picked up a Radeon X800XL, and I'm very happy with it. It's about on par with a 6800GT. I saw a video from Quake Con where Todd Hollenshead, Tim Willits, and some dude from Raven were showcasing Quake 4. It looks REALLY spiffy. Really, eally, spiffy.
Oh, in the Doom movie, two characters are Dr. Carmack and Dr. Willits.
