Today I bought a new video card (ATI Radeon 9250 128 MB), as I thought that I would be able to fix a problem with playing videos on my computer since my old video couldn't update its drivers and I couldn't install the latest directx software. The problem still remains, and I suspect that I am lacking the proper codecs, but anyways, any time that I try to play any video file on my computer in full screen, there is significant slow down to the frame rate and audio. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions?

Don't know if this is the same, but I just got a new 6800 (nvidia, i known) but, the driver screwed up the "video overlay" setting, basically it took the gama control out of wack.

Right now I am having problems with the video card driver; it said that I have to have a vga standard driver installed. There has been many ways to do this but done of them work at the moment. I used a program called Driver Cleaner Pro, but now I can't get my system to start in safe mode.

ATi actually makes a very effective driver removal utility.

Does your system boot at all?

There is nothing cleaning the driver off the system, but, as much as it reminds me of a Final Fantasy X tactic, I'll just throw money at the problem (new case - side panels are both for the right side; and a new system hard drive, as I stripped a screw so its lodged into the casing now). I have XP, and I can get free software from my mom since she's a teacher. Thanks for your help guys, but as WillyTrombone indicated, with me there's no beat porn.

To change the subject: Does anyone else have problems with their power plugs? I mean, I have two power bars that I can totally fill. It is kind of selfish as there is a power emergecy and the hydro people have two (yes two!) units, I think they're generators to repair the lines, but it makes me feel important.

I have two full ones, plus two special ATX power cables that are stackable

Granted, at any given time 2/3 of the shit that is plugged in, is turned off.
