A new graphics card came out. Dunno how this slipped under my radar. http://www.gamedev.net/community/forums/topic.asp?topic_id=327633 2.3x the rendering power of a 6800 at 50% the power and takes up only 1 slot. less power = less heat = quieter cooling Also, the sons of bitches released SLI to the mainstream market. You can pick up SLI nForce boards now, tho I don't know if the 7800's have SLI capability, tho I don't see why they wouldn't. I know for sure the 6600's will. The 7800 GTX goes for $599. nuts. --------------------

In case you weren't being sarcastic. . .Nvidia has an SLI chipset for Intel now, not just AMD. The 6600, 6800, and 7800 all support SLI. I've even seen them in action. (albeit, and a tradeshow, but they weren't just reference designs) Nvidia is working on SLI 2. Dual core processors are out for both AMD and Intel, and the AMD dual core stomp all over the Intel offerings, even over the single core parts especially in gaming. ATi has their solution to SLi, call Crossfire, and it gets the highest 3dmark scores. I think that about brings you up to date. . . more or less. [edit] Oh yeah, Serious Sam is getting a new engine MSI hit 7.3GB/s on memory bandwidth with their P4N Nforce4 Intel board with DDR2 - 1200 memory from PQI There, I think that's it. I'm pretty up to speed on most things, but thanks for the potshot anway, ass. No one hasn't talked about hardware lately so I thought I'd post it.I knew nVidia had SLI out, but that article lead me to believe that it wasn't available in consumer-level products. I also know about SLI 2, but since I'm not an ATi fan, I didn't know about Crossfire, although it doesn't surprise me. Dual-core processors aren't news either. Samsung is trying to push for flash memory drives instead of spinning platters, Toshiba developed a battery that recovers 80% of its charge in 1 minute, a few companies are trying to make ultra-HD TVs using carbon nanotubes and other various materials and I still don't have a flying car. http://news.google.com/?ned=us&topic=t That's basically my exclusive online news source, so if it doesn't show up on there, it gets by me. Haven't read it regularly for the past few weeks tho. --------------------

Obsidian. . . Ingram Micro is the result of breeding between con artists and managerial consultants. In short they fuck you in the ass without the benefit of a reach around. Take a close look at some of the items in their pricelist. Then go down to best buy and check their prices for the same item. 90% of the time, the prices will be the same. The other ten percent, Ingram will be more expensive. At work, we use Ingram for some things we can't locate anywhere else, and they are ALWAYS the most expensive for just about anything else. You'd do better locating an online shop on Pricewatch, or buying from New Egg. -------------------- “I have noticed even people who claim everything is predestined, and that we can do nothing to change it, look before they cross the road.” “Intelligence is the ability to adapt to change.” --Dr. Stephen Hawking.
