It looks like an explosion happened in the trunk.

My Nissan 240SX handled great at 125 MPH with 260 K miles on it.

109 - that's it?
I had my 91 S-15 Jimmy up around 125 on a nice stretch of highway in western mass... at the time it was around 220,000 miles.

It was a hair above 110 on my roommates cellphone, but we realized he didn't have data capabilities afterwards.

The transmission in this car is shot. I don't think my sister every changed the fluid when she had it for a few years, and lord knows if the previous owner ever changed it too. The first time I changed it.. it was nearly black. I had to run new fluid threw it every month for about 4-5 months because it kept burning it. It finally slowed down, but it still misses some and I get NO accel. when it shifts into 4th.

My 929 handles superbly at 160mph. Hondas rule.

Right before I moved to Canada a truck driver I knew dropped by to show off his new 1999 Vette. He was dumb enough to throw my buddy the keys and told us to try it out. We had it up to 140mph in a very short time and the rag top was noisy as hell. That's the fastest I've been in a car. I've had a few trucks (when I was young) thatI would drive at 100-120 a lot but I seldom go over 85 nowadays. Must be getting old.

It's funny how you get used to it. I don't feel like I'm going at all fast until 140mph anymore. 150 or so is when I start to get a little bit of a rush. 175 is when my heart starts really pumping. That's about all my bike will do, tho. Even on backroads, 110mph is nothing.. 3rd gear.

If you have a hardon for speed, buy a bike. For ten grand you get something that'll ass-rape a Viper GT.

You know what's funny? I was about to leave Denny's and heard a dude wipe out in the street behind me. All I heard was plastic scraping against pavement and my freiends gasping. I turned around in time to see him rolling in the turning lane, get up, and run to his bike. Piece of the body were in the road and getting run over by cars. Dumbass. I don't know what he did to wipe, but my friends said he tried to do a wheelie. The guy was riding with a few other people, so it figures.

I didn't feel like making a new thread about it.

i've seen toyotas with 300k+.

i've also seen chevys and other domestics with the same (usually trucks). they're always beat to shit, though.

hondas? nope. even if the motor lasts more than 200k, the transmissions don't. on manuals, best case, the synchros will be trashed. autos? i've seen them die before 100k.

Well burble right now Toyota and Honda are number 1 and 2 for quality. I prefer Nissan and then Toyota over Honda for style but Honda is great in the quality arena.

burble knows everything, so its pointless in shining any other light.

my parents had a 87 go for 253,000 until a mechanic trashed it. its all about maintenance of the foreign japanese cars. most problems with the transmissions is people thinking they can run the same fluid in them for thousands upon thousands of miles. my mom did that with 5th gear in hers.

Had an 87 Olds Delta 88. The day before I picked up my new ride it rolled over 400,000. Not a knock in the engine. Slight jerk in the transmission if your floored it, but driving it nicely it was a halluva ride. I miss that car now.

That was about the best engine GM ever produced...that ol' 3.6L small 6 with great.

True honda and Toyota make cars that last forever and get good gas mileage but where's the style??? They are ugly as my brown eye!

I had a red honda accord with over 200K on it, sure it got me from point A to point B but I don't think any girl ever creamed her pants over it. My fathers Porsche that I used to borrow when I was a kid was a different story all together. That car got me laid more times than I can count.
