Fitter, happier, more productive, comfortable, not drinking too much, regular exercise at the gym (3 days a week), getting on better with your associate employee contemporaries , at ease, eating well (no more microwave dinners and saturated fats), a patient better driver, a safer car (baby smiling in back seat), sleeping well (no bad dreams), no paranoia, careful to all animals (never washing spiders down the plughole), keep in contact with old friends (enjoy a drink now and then), will frequently check credit at (moral) bank (hole in the wall), favors for favors, fond but not in love, charity standing orders, on Sundays ring road supermarket (no killing moths or putting boiling water on the ants), car wash (also on Sundays), no longer afraid of the dark or midday shadows nothing so ridiculously teenage and desperate, nothing so childish - at a better pace, slower and more calculated, no chance of escape, now self-employed, concerned (but powerless), an empowered and informed member of society (pragmatism not idealism), will not cry in public, less chance of illness, tires that grip in the wet (shot of baby strapped in back seat), a good memory, still cries at a good film, still kisses with saliva, no longer empty and frantic like a cat tied to a stick, that's driven into frozen winter shit (the ability to laugh at weakness), calm, fitter, healthier and more productive a pig in a cage on antibiotics.-------------------- I once had a Quantum Car, but every time I looked at the speedometer, I'd get lost. - Heisenberg

Yes, but I forgive you for I would do the same thing.-------------------- “I have noticed even people who claim everything is predestined, and that we can do nothing to change it, look before they cross the road.” “Intelligence is the ability to adapt to change.” --Dr. Stephen Hawking.

Yeah, screw all that bs about the time paradoxes and stuff. I would totally jack with the timeline for fame and wealth. What would really be cool is if I could transfer my mind into my own body as a child. Imagine the possibilities there. quote: Van Halen was lame in the eighties and 'most' (not all) electronic music is overated. =)
Well, I guess it depends on how old you were. It was mainstream pop rock at the time, and pretty cool for my age group. But I've always listened to a little of everything though so I never cared much when people with exclusive music snobbery in their ass put down my music. Chances were that my tastes were broader and deeper than theirs to begin with. Now todays pop. That's a different story. Definitely worthy of ridicule. Is that hypocritical to say. I mean, 90% of the music on the radio these days is something like 10% talent (if that) 45% looks/45% sound production. Nowadays there are so many quote unquote musicians who don't even write their own music which I think is pathetic. People who listen to that stuff, and think it's good... well.. music tastes have been dumbed down a lot over the years, I'll just say that. I kinda agree about the electronic stuff. Any person with a computer can now try his hand at electronic music, so there ends up being a lot of electronic crap you plow through on your way to the good stuff. What electronic do you like? Maybe I could aim you in the right direction. -------------------- I once had a Quantum Car, but every time I looked at the speedometer, I'd get lost. - Heisenberg

Crappy music has always been around, not just lately. Look at all the dudes in the 80's who had Giant hair and looked like chicks. Pop music is made to be digested by everyone, from your grandma straight to your little sister and thats what its always been, not just now but in the 60s/70s/80s. I still like 80's hair metal, its fun to listen too. What do you think of Dio Cac? I love it, fantasy metal is so nerdy but funny. And Ronnie Dio has the highest voice known to man. Holy Diver!

Some of the best songs are pop, just not many I think. I like Mitsubishi commercial music. one in particular is a favorite. It's Breathe by Telepopmusik. kinda chill. good to drive to. give it a listen if you haven't.
Hey its ok, we can't all agree with each other all the time right? Better admiting it than drawing it out in a gigantic post -- a la Snag And I do love electronica, I've probably been listening to it longer than you have or if not I am familiar with most if not all the artists you like. Who are you into? [ 04-28-2005: Message edited by: mynameisxanthan ]

You guys ever listen to protonradio.com? Some of the best progressive out there, totally free, and fresh every day. Pretty good community, too. The forums are fairly active, and many of the DJs and artists post themselves.Lately I've been spinning a lot of Mic Burns, Madoka, Dousk, and Derek Howell. Other good one-offs from Kaan Duzarat, Blake Jarell, Golan Globus, and Panopticon. Old favorites are still Chable, Dekay, Flash Bros, 16B, Holden, and James Talk. -------------------- http://quake2world.net

Xan - Holy Diver! Dio, the Napoleon of Heavy Metal. I was teasing a bit there about both Van Halen and electronic music.
I actually liked Van Halen back when their first album came out. I lost interest fairly quick. I do like certain electronic music but tend to prefer bands that combine real guitar, real drums, etc. -------------------- ...
