I've been eating a low carb yogurt (5 Grams of Carbs) and a medium-protein Whey bar (12 Grams Carbs / 15 Grams Protein every work day morning for the last year or so.

In the last 6 weeks I started with low-carb, low-fat healthy lunches and dinners and restricting my total caloric intake to 1,500 to 1,700 calories per day. In the six weeks I've lost 18 Lbs. I plan on getting back to my ideal weight (for me). Oh and I increased exercise by about 200% which is key.

that looks SO delicious... mmm... reminds me of the luxury toasts I make when I have that extra special feeling.

Take a toast, cover it with crispy fried bacon, cover that with a fried egg, then some blue cheese, then a little mayo+mustard and cover everything with cheese. Put it in the oven until the cheese melts, and enjoy. Not for people with heart problems.

That thing looks tasty. Should-be-eaten-once-a-year-like-Christmas-dinner type tasty.

I love that article for this line and this line only:

I ate one the other day with fries and a diet coke. It was delicious.

That said, it's a once-per-year burger for me.

On the rare occasion that I have a burger I prefer a small slider type burger. Sort of like a white castle but 'real' meat (and not steamed) and grilled w/onions & pickles.

Here in Michigan they are served at Bates or Brays or some other word starting with a 'B'.

'big chunk of beef' would be a cool name for a burger or a band or something.

Cac, how the hell do you go on a low-carb diet and increase exercise by 200%? I took up karate last year and I need a good giant spaghetti/rice/major carb dinner before a session or I'm pretty much dead.

I've been doing the Atkins thing for the last two years. My Cholestrol is ultra low. Both of those sandwiches look like what I eat three times a day, minus the bread.

I'd kill for pasta, bread, fruit, BEER, pizza.....

But the only thing I've been able to do to keep the weight off is Atkins.

MEAT, MEAT and more meat. Would you like some meat with your meat? And cheese, all the friggin cheese you can eat. Thank god pure alcohol and diet soda is 0 Carb or I would have lost my mind long ago..

Hey Wolfie,

Well you are probably already in good shape so by increasing your exercise you need more carbs.

When I started my diet I was 30 Lbs or more overweight and was not exercising as much as I should have been.

So doubling my exercise program that was lacking is not that drastic of a change.

Lowering my carb and total caloric intake while increasing my exercise were both appropriate actions to lose weight fairly fast.
