Well, I was out drinking one night and I tied on a good one, when I woke up I was in Iowa...

Regarding when... perhaps I ought to set up a BBQ or something for April/May when it's a bit warmer for anyone who can make it.

Though I was kinda trashed when I posted that last night, it's not a bad idea ;-)

Drink...

Nah, it's not so bad really. I do miss the big city a lot, but there are a lot of nice lakes, good roads for riding and the summers are warm and bug free. I've definitely been to worse places than this.

(Oh, and some of the girlies are pretty nice too!)

BTW~ Mississippi boat trips rule them all.

Helsinki - NY JFK - Helsinki 443 euros total with taxes etc. That's like nothing, if somebody can arrange some housing nearby. Hotels are why travelin is expensive.

I'm in for anywhere! I get outa school on may 3rd, so anytime after that is cool. I'm also able to pickup anyone willing to split driving time. By may I should have my new car and the rest of my money, so distances are no problem at all. Hell, even if I have to drive out to NY, then west to Iowa I wouldn't mind; I love traveling.

Fess, what are you pricewise to DTW? I know Detroit's a pretty big international airport.

I need to save up money, too. I've been living on about 70 bucks a week since christmas.

Got about 3 more weeks to go and then if I don't pick up some work, it's either start borrowing or start starving.

Ah, the joys of college life...

where ever we meet, whoever does the arranging, I really hope they can provide accommodation

I don't wanna pay 400 for a flight and then end up paying a grand for hotel bills.

Hey 2X, buy a house from NY, then let us stay there for a bit before selling/renting it, eh?

I'll have to ask the wife about it first :-(

If it's someplace on the East Coast I can probably make it.

I guess the real question is how many people can we get and where to meet.

I'd hate to have a bunch of people throwing up at someones house. Throwing up at hotels is always much better.

I've got ties with the rental department if we want to rent a house on the beach where I live.
http://www.rehoboth.com/

10 people $100 - $200 each would get a pretty nice place for a few days. All depending on the amount of "Niceness" you want.

Lewes beach and Dewey beach are also right here, Dewey has live bands and hot chicks all over the place.

I'm all for that idea, sounds like fun . East coast is fine with me, I've never been there before. As I said before, I'm willing to pick up anyone on my way from detroit (or even out of my way in the same general direction) as long as they'll help pitch in for gas money.

Sounds like fun! I have a bunch of stuff planned like Myrtle Beach in April, cross country trip in May, family comnig over in June / July and then later on in the Fall. East Coast is fine by me because it's easy to get to although I do want to see more of the country.

Hm. While cities are nice because mass transportation takes you right to them, they are expensive to stay in. *If* you guys wanted to come into Boston, I could arrange transportation for you to my area. Cheap hotels, nice country scenery, 10 minutes from the beach.

Just an idea. Money isn't really a huge concern for me, and I'm up for going wherever we all decide. August is great.

Right, Boston is expensive. Any city is. That's why I suggested my area, towards Cape Cod. I'm about 45 minutes South of Boston - Buzzards Bay area. There's a $20 shuttle bus from Boston's Logan Airport that puts you 25 minutes from my door. It's really beautiful here, that time of year. There's a Days Inn about 2 miles from my apartment. I bet it's $60/night for a double twin room. But, like I said, just an idea.

I would definitely be up for an East Coast trip. RB's place is about 90mins for me (I'm basing that on the time it takes me to get from Westford to New Bedford - AccuBilliards to be exact).

You just know we're all gonna hate each other IRL as the texters say on their cells.

There is a Wyndham hotel in Chelsea that is about 15mins from the airport. Not only is Chelsea the smallest town in Mass. it also stinks like a fucking armpit but don't let that put you off. From there it's easy to get into Boston by cab if you want. I don't know about the buses. There are some titty bars up Rt1 but you don't expect super hot chicks. One of the main attractions of Boston, or Chelsea for that matter, is the natural gas power station. If the terrorists decide to attack the US again and go for that as a target then you won't feel any pain, those tanks and the tankers that sit in the river hold enough gas to blow up Boston... but don't let that put you off.

--------------------

Miss you guys.

I'm already flying to SoCal May 20th to hook up with some other people from another forum.

I get the vague feeling that if people from this board got together, it would eventually turn into a massive brawl.

And RB is right. Better to camp in the outskirts rather than the heart of a city. Oh, wait, I should prolly start this by saying "I can't believe I'm agreeing with RB on this."

I can try to make it, but if its not within 10-hour driving distance from Cleveland, OH, I won't be able to.
