When I was driving sports cars (300ZX, 240SX, Lancia Scorpion, etc...) I tried many top brands for performance tires like: Pirelli, Bridgestone, Yokohama, etc.. In my 25+ years of driving I've found that the best tire manufacturer out there is Michelin, hands down. Now that I drive an SUV I still go with Michelin. Of course they are very expensive but who cares when it comes to handling and safety. Just my 2 cents...

Snag - Static balancing (one side of the rim) is not nearly as good as dynamic balancing (both sides). If it's a slight vibration then I would suspect it's because you went with static over dynamic. If it's more than slightly out then it could be that they did a shitty job. On most of my sports cars I've had I always went with dynamic even though the weights would be visible. I would usually watch the guy and make sure he hit zero. Some guys think that 7 grams or less out of balance, is good enough. One my Toyota SUV the outside of the rims will not accept a weight due to the design. In this case instead of going with static balancing I had them use weight tapes. What they do is adhere the weight tape to the middle inside portion of the rim. It's not that visible and much better than static balancing. -------------------- ...
