Evercrack meets the Matrix.

It is a massivley multiplayer game...where you yourself get jacked into the matrix and that is where the entire game is played out. It takes place AFTER Revolutions.

Well...I dunno. I have resisted EVERY massively multipolayer game thus far because everyone I have witnessed turned into zombies. But I always said this one I will try.

Question
I signed up for the beta Stress Test through Fileplanet. When I log into the game it says (Authenticating Failure...Account is inactive.) What is wrong?

Answer
Fileplanet accounts for the upcoming Stress Test will not be activated until the Stress Test begins on 12:00 PM PST, February 7, 2005 (20:00 GMT, 7 Feburary 2005). Until that time, you will be unable to log into The Matrix Online. We apologize for any misunderstanding or inconvenience this may have caused you.

Thank You,
The Matrix Online Support Team

In case anybody else jumps through the 100 or so hoops needed to get thier keys

Thanks though snag

well I downloaded the client. Bout 24MB, but it is supposed to download the game the first time you log in which I cannot do until the test starts. Guess that's supposed to be aprt of the stress. Hell everybody is going to log in at the same time and it'll take forever to grab the GB of data.

Turn me off to the game right there most likely.

Dev at first I only downloaded the same file you are talking about. Then I went back to FilePlanet and found the link to the zip that Snag mentioned.

It should be here: http://www.fileplanet.com/download.aspx?f=142991

Yeah, I think thats apart of their stress test, but their servers are pretty damn quick.

Had to download 1.7GB worth of a patch update 2 days ago, and it took maybe a half-hour on cable. (although it was at 2AM, there were plenty of other ppl downloading at the time).

When you guys get in-game tomorrow, look out for ByteCrawler. I'll show you the ropes.

I guarantee your first impression of the game will be "I don't like it."

The last patch they put out introuduced some of the nastiest bugs I've seen. I can't go into detail though.

Well I'm focusing on Operative right now, but they're all cool in their own sense. Plus as you get higher up in experience, you can switch around which abilities you use. So if you choose Operative, its not to say that you can't be a hacker. You can just unload your Operative abilities, keep them in code storage, and then load up Hacker abilities (of course if you have them).

Only thing is, since you focused on Operative abilities, your Hacker tree is going to be weak. So you'll need some time to build that tree up to your level. Its easier to explain once you're in game. But thats one of the really cool parts of this game: Most MMORPG games, you choose your class and your stuck with it unless you create another character all together. In MxO, you can basically change your class on the fly (just find a hard-line).

Really cool stuff man, just make sure you find me when you get in. I'll add you guys into my faction (I'll probably have my captain disband me from his crew so I'll head up a crew with you guys and join into the whole faction). I'll show you guys the complete INs and OUTs so that you don't have a hard time like I did at first.

To msg in MxO, its a /t so when you get on make sure to to a /t ByteCrawler yoooo!

But I'll make sure to look out for IncognitoX.

They just released movies to show the different types of combat:
http://thematrixonline.warnerbros.com/web/live/news_display.jsp?id=020805_training

If you don't have a Gamespot account, I know there's mirrors of the movies somewhere (check Bluesnews.com, they had a news update about it dated today with the mirror links).

I was teachin Dev some of the INs and OUTs last night with abilities and how to load/upgrade them and what benefits they provide. He already reached Level 11 which makes it easier for me to show him more stuff. Next thing I teach him will probably be combat, then I'm going to go Access Node hunting with him.

I need to read up or have GFK help me. I completed two basic missions. I beat a few guys to death but could not figure out how to take their gun. What bind is 'take all'.

When in the custom bind screen it's glitchy so I can't read every command.

I'll check out that link GFKiller.

No problem. BTW, you only get a gun if it's in their loot. You never get the exact gun in their hand.

After defeating an exile, you search the corpse and whatever is in that box, you 'Take All.' Sometimes you get a gun, sometimes you don't. It's fairly random. But you always get Info off of them.

I believe if you double click them, it'll automatically search them. To be sure, right click on it and you'll see Search button pop up. Obviously, hit it to search and then a window will pop up with the items they have on them. Basically, always use Take All, because if you don't need the item you can recycle it and get more Info.

Just show you know, if you're defeating characters that their names appear in grey, you will be unable to loot them. Their XP level is too weak for you to even be dealing with them.

Well, I can't even complete the first mission. I find the first two people easy enough but can never find the third person. I fought some duela, they're fun but unprofitable.

Soooo, I am the dark avenger of the night. I have over 2 million in info but my memory is full so until I get some more levels I'm topped out :0

Well I have rescued a couple of "Blues" but the mission I'm talking about, the compass thinger takes me to the initial meeting where I meet the first two people. After which in my objectives tab, It says to meet a third person. The compass thinger still points me to the original meeting. It never swicthes to the third person. I have been all over and as long as the mission stays in effect it points me to the original meeting.

Like I said, I have plenty of information, a bunch of weapons, and am a hyper jumping foo

When in game type "/t nick message" and it will either send us a message or inform you that we don't exist or are not jacked in.

I am IncognitoX (of course)

btw G, they going to wipe your character after this week again? Or will you be wanting my info and goodies on the last day?

Actually, once you start to figure out what you are supposed to do the game is fine. This isn't a finished product either by any means. Several changes have already been identified and in a lot of cases implemented. What kind of sound card are you using snag? I had crash issues with my AC97 onboard sound until I turned the hardware acceleration down. Once I did that the game ran a lot more smoothly for me and i haven't really crashed since.

You get the occasional server kick, but a couple of those have been the developer's shutting them down in order to change something.

The game has it's high and low points. It is fairly repetitive (at least so far) and it is taking me forever to go up another level. I'm doing missions at the moment and plan to go Data Node hunting with GFK later. (Whatever that means)

I'll play it for this week, then once the stress test is over, I figure my career as an operative is over. I wouldn't pay $50.00 for the game, then commit to another $15.00 a month to play it.

Of course, I'm not a real gamer. I do admit though that I find myself jacking in when I only have a couple of minutes (which isn't really productive) to play.

I enjoy jumping from rooftop to rooftop as I make my way across the city.

(Beware the demons) Yes I said demons

Besides This whole thing was all your fault anyway snag
