Come over to my house, I want some IR photos taken of the house to see if (and more likely where) we are losing heat.

Edit: I could take the photos with my digital rebel but I guess you have to dismantle it, etc. I don't think I'm gonna do that to a $900 camera! That might be cheap compared to pro-equipment but it's pretty pricey to me!

Nice pics Xan. I've always wanted to try Infra Red photography. I've always liked how it turns out. Unfortunately, my Elan7n won't really work well with infra-red film, although Canon is kind of vague on why.

I have a the right lens filter for my old camera, but so far I can't find a source for the film.

Not all cameras will work AW. If your camera body is plastic, infrared light may be passing through. Any metal body camera should be okay.

Heh, I guess that's true. It does have a plastic film back. But it's an Aluminum body other than that. Stupid plastic back.

Like I said though, my old Ricoh will do it, but no source for film. (I even have the right filter damnit!)

My dad worked for Nasa and other organizations in the optics industries during and after WW2. He had this BIG lense that looked like something out of a science fiction movie that he adapted to a camera body. The result was very crisp bright images of us as children.

...and have not yet seen an image that matches the quality of those taken thru this old (possibly military issue) lense he used to use. I wonder where it is now, I will have to ask the old fellah tomorrow.

Cy, I would be really interested to find out what kind of lens it is. And a picture if you can get one I really like old lenses. Some of them were fantastic.

Like Flux said those are otherworldly looking. The first one reminds me of that old series, Tales from the Dark Side if anyone remembers that. Good work.

that house almost looks like it should be haunted with that filter...I wonder....would infrared pick up a spook (because of the "temperature" differential of their presence)...if of course you believe in that kinda thing

Snag, if you knew anything, you'd know that digital has a hard time picking up ghosts. Film is much better.
