I like this beer and I just bought a six pack over the weekend and it made me wonder "Do you guys actually drink this stuff?"

How about Labaat? I need answers from our neighbors up North.

For those who haven't had it http://www.mooseheadbeer.com

Fuze and I use that beer when going for Moose-Action.

Actually, I've had Moosehead years ago and did not like it then. I may today you never know since tastes change.

I like Labatt or Molsens but beer not ale.

Maybe the Cream Ale.

Ever have a Sleeman's?

I like German Wheat Beers the most.

Sometimes I like a Guinness with Bass Ale (black n tan / half n half, however you want to call it)

Half Guinness and half hard cider is good too.

Oh god I could post about beer all day.

Me too, Cac. I love Black and Tan's but I have not had that combination yet. I do enjoy Guiness a lot though, Beamish is also another favorite stout.

Never had a Sleesman, is it hard to find? The closet good beer store from me is about 25 minutes away. Maybe I should make a beer run sometime next week.

Do you like Harpoon? I had some nice Harpoon winter warmer last week as well.

I usually drink Kokanee. Never tried Moosehead. Maybe this weekend I'll try it.

Guiness makes me shiver. Too thick for me. The darkest I can go is Yuengling Lager or Michelob Amberboch right now. I've tried Sam Adams and wasn't impressed at first.

Mmmmm. . . Guiness Extra Stout. . . .

I think I've had moosehead, although I don't actually remember drinking it. If I've had it, then I was too far gone to remember.

Sleeman (not Sleesman) is okay, the Honey Brown is pretty good.

Molson Canadian is the standard of course

Labatt I like some of them. John Labatt's Classic probably the most. (Labatt owns a startling number of beer labels, including Kokanee, which I've never liked)

Alexander Keith's India Pale Ale is good.

Okanagan Springs Pale Ale and 1516 Lager my usual buys

Pilsner

Big Rock Grasshopper is decent. .

Crap, I could go on about beer all night. Oh wait, cac just said that.

I've never had Sleeman (thanks for the correction AW) but it says something about being the number one beer in Canada. Marketing crap I suppose.

I hate Sam Adams. It's totak crap IMO and I've tried about 6 different types.

In the summer I like a good wheat or half-wheat beer. My favorite wheat beers (in order) include:

Weihenstephan (Weizen)
Paulaner Weissbier (Weizen)
Hacker Pschorr (Weisse)
Weihenstephan Hefeweissbier (Dunkel)
Staatsbrauerei Weihenstephan (Hefeweizen)
Schneider Weisse (Weisse)
Herrnbrau Kristall (Weisse)

Weisse/Weizen = wheat
Hefeweizen = half wheat
Dunkel = dark
Kristall = clear

Moosehead...hardly. That is like Alexander Keith's. You gotta have no taste buds or only three braincells left after drinking too much screech in the morning in order to actually enjoy that swill (Sorry for implying New Brunswickers are Newfies but let's face it....your close enough to be called Newfie.)

Molson Canadian is standard fair. Hope they don't merge with Coor's!
Grasshopper from Big Rock is OK, Traditional Ale from Big Rock is ultimately my brew of choice.
Kokanee ANYTHING is like horse piss with alcohol added to it.
Not a fan of European beers AT ALL (chilled or "normal")...funny how so many North Americans do not know how to drink the brew as the Europeans intend it to (In London, bars often have to spigots...one chilled and one "normal").

And what the hell...Budweiser brewed with rice? That is not how you make a beer. No wonder American beer sucks ass...you are consulting with the Japs

I am not a huge fan of beer though. I like my crown and coke chased with a toke. Then I am good for a laugh and a joke. But beer will only be had if it is free and I am broke

Whatever happened to OV (Old Vienna)...I miss that shit.

I grew up stealing chugs from my dad's stubby bottle at the "post game tailgate party" when it was still socially acceptable to have 5 or six beer and drive home

In that case we can skip over your comments. =)

I agree American beer sucks, especially those micro-brews. Canadian beer is good for everyday beer but there are many great European brands that are better for special occasions.

I like German/Bavarian beer best.

Sleemans honey brown is excellent, and so is the cream ale. Both are nice and smooth.

One of the people at work was saying something about a beer called Dab. . . which of course spawned a punning spree of gigantic proportions.

OH MY FUCKING GOD!!!

I FOUND A BOTTLE OF OV TONIGHT!!!

I was so excited!!!!

And I still am...of course, I had the OV after I had about 6 Crown and Cokes.

BTW Xanthan...Crown and coke is my DRINK of choice ok! Ahead of any beer.....ahead of ANY drink I had in Mexico.

For the record....you make fun of my Kaluha and cream...you go to Mexico and order a rye and coke and see what it tastes like (it is gawdawful!!!)

Just wanted to say: the OV was not old....they have started selling it in selected markets

My favorite is and will always be Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Pyramid Apricott Wheat is a pretty tasty brew but a bit too sweet to get trashed on, Guiness is pretty good shit but gives me the darkest poop on the planet the day after. If your poor and live on the West Coast I'm sure you've had some Henry Weinhards. It almost taste like good beer but it's the same price as Old Millwaukee.

Pabst Blue ribbon still kicks ass. I drink it at my grandfathers house. He's an old time brick layer. I did not realize they still made the stuff untill I found it in his fridge on Christmas Day.

I bring back 1878's when I visit Germany. They have a top similar to the Grolsh bottles. I use re-use them (the bottles)when I brew my own beer.

Fuck! I wish I were not on this damn low carb diet. I'd be drunk right now.

I used to drink moosehead when it first came into the stores here. (It is from Saint John, New Brunswick so it is on the opposite end on the continent from here.) Not a bad beer, it is best enjoyed with Cac. nuff said. ;^)

I really like Okanagan Spring Pale Ale. http://www.okspring.com/

Beer is like having a new new tshirt, fresh and not full of stains.

Argh, it's GUINNESS! Two N's and two S's.

I don't even drink the stuff but I did work for united Distillers (via CSC Outsourcing) and they own Guinness.

Miss you guys.

Oh yeah, if you can find it, try Black Sheep Ale from Yorkshire. It's the original Theakston's Old Peculiar (just under a different name after they were bought out, etc.)

Skullsplitter from Orkney is nice too but I only drink a couple at a time since it has a really strong taste.

I used to drink more beer / ale when I was younger but find it easier to just chug shit which is a real shame. Perhaps this thread will get me back on track? I loved going to beer festivals where you had a choice of as many as 100 beers on tap.

Don't much like stout (Guinness, Murphy's, etc.) but I do like Youngs Double Chocolate. It doesn't taste much of chocolate but there is a pleasant hint.

Have drunk a few Trappist Ales in the past, they're usually nice.

Sunset Grille in Allston, MA is a great place to try new beers, they have a HUGE selection to try from.

I like wheat beers too, very nice on a hot summer day with a wedge of lemon.

I wish winter would GTF already!

--------------------

Miss you guys.
