Regprotect? I turned you on to that one? christ, I must be getting old, i don't remember that.At anyrate. Hands down the BEST spyware remover, is SpySweeper by Webroot. It's scary how much it finds after running Ad-Aware, Spybot, CWShredder, About:Buster, Hijack This etc. The best part about SpySweeper is that it also runs a realtime protection, to help block stuff on the fly. The only downside to spysweeper is that it isn't free, and that it's one of the slower scanners. I tell you though, NOTHING is more thorough. It is fairly inexpensive though, and I would HIGHLY recommend it. There is a 30 day trial available if you want to check it out. If the name Webroot sounds familiar, they also produced MailWasher. -------------------- “I have noticed even people who claim everything is predestined, and that we can do nothing to change it, look before they cross the road.” “Intelligence is the ability to adapt to change.” --Dr. Stephen Hawking.

Well, for one thing Snaggles, it's not actually made by Microsoft, and the only reason it's still beta is that I don't think they've finished erasing all the references to Giant Software from the code yet. It does actually have some interesting features. It'll be interesting to see how well it functions. Oh, and it was my pleasure 2x

Could be CoolWebSearch, but that's notorious for the porn pop-ups and hijacking start pages. I'd run CWShredder and About:Buster in any case. Both remove CWS variants. Then I'd do SpySweeper again. All of this should be done in safe mode. In fact ANY spyware removal should be done in safe mode. Not Safe Mode with Networking, just straight Safe Mode. http://www.intermute.com/spysubtract/cwshredder_download.html <--CWShredder is owned by Intermute now http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4289.html <--About:Buster download. -------------------- “I have noticed even people who claim everything is predestined, and that we can do nothing to change it, look before they cross the road.” “Intelligence is the ability to adapt to change.” --Dr. Stephen Hawking.
