Basically, what Cheney says isn't what Cheney means. ..classic doublespeak. ..something with clear implication, but just vague enough to be able to retract and "clarify" if necessary. I'm way past giving Cheney, any repupublicans, or democrats the benefit of the doubt. They are well aware of what their words insinuate, and how those words affect the average American.

This reminds me of when the conservatives up here did right before the last election.

The said that the Prime Minister elect supports child porn. Different words, but there was no mistaking the meaning. They quickly retracted it, mostly because it flat out wasn't true.

It was probably the worst thing they could have done to themselves.

I think Cheney has hurt the republicans more by those initial comments than the last 4 years have. He's delivered a serious blow to the credibility of the GOP.
