Listen to a few tunes for me. Do they make you feel good? Or do they piss you off? If they bother you we are coming to get you.

Why is there a thumbs up icon next to patriotism anyway? Patriotism is regressive.

Sure some patriotism is good but being overly patriotic reflects a significant character flaw.

If one is so damn patriotic an enamoured by their country, go and fight for your country. Die for your country. For until you put your life on the line for your country, you are no true patriot, but rather hiding behind your self professed patriotism, your flag, and the freedom that TRUE patriots have bought you.

i could care less about free health care. I would welcome the US model. Take me out of my tax bracket and drop me into a different one so I can save a few hundred bucks a month, choose the health insurance provider of my choice, make the hospitals run like a business and compete for my business and stop giving the welfare cases a reason not to work...and get rid of 13 hour ER waits too.

Also, if a country wants their people to be patriotic, give them a reason to be. OOOOOOHHHH WE ARE PEACEKEEPERS. Yeah, that will be real fucking good when we get invaded. "Please, no shooting. We must remain calm. Nobody needs to die." as we watch our forces jam up with their 70 year old single shot rifles and get mowed down by the enemy with machine guns, tanks and offshore warships...ah hell, Go Canada eh?!

welfare. its less than < 1% of federal spending and < %2 of your state budget.

(opinion)
its part of people management. otherwise you spend more for other stuff, crime, cost of this, cost of that.
(/opinion)

btw, for the record..non defense spending for the budget outlined for 2004 by this administration is 2% higher than 2000. During which the defense spending slice is growing, understandably, and the pie is shrinking (tax receipts).

*as a percent of total outlays.

I agree that overly patriotic folks are blind.

I do not find anything wrong with the Air National Guard record of Bush. He wasn't seen or remembered? Great, he must have been doing his job.

Bush made a promise to us after 9/11 (remember when he visited the site and grabbed the bull horn?) He promised to hunt and kill anyone who threatens us and he is keeping that promise.

And for those of you who say "What has he been doing for 4 years"? He has been doing exactly what a president should do.

You can pretty much find facts for any argument, it's just which ones make more sense for survival. There is still a job to be done in others lands, you can't trust a monkey with a nuke or virus.

were you talking to me Broch? If so, you might want to recheck the issue of welfare spending, but next time research for Canada

Cy, there are many things Bush should be doing as a president but he has a one-track mind. Again, not questioning his intelligence. He is a smart man...but he can only focus on one thing at a time (and has created quite the pre-occupation).

I'm still flying to Iraq every now and then. I hate patriotic songs. Especially the Air force song. I don't think there is anything great about killing civillians or even uneduacated soldiers who are working for the wrong team. I think the senators of our country should have to be the ones to go to war with the rulers of whatever country we go to war with.

At the same time I think we should pull out and melt Iraq into one big sheet of glass. Fuck this "we won't shoot you while you hide in a historic church" blow the fucker to shreds.
