I've now owned Doom 3 for two days, and I'm so buried in the single player mode that I haven't bothered to fire up MP yet. There have only been two other games, ever, that caught my attention like this...Quake 1 and Half Life.
I have to be honest, as an old Doomlanner I wasn't actually expecting much out of this game...I thought Doom 3 would just be Doom 2 with better graphics and the ability to look up and down. I've never been so happy to be wrong in my life!

Awesome that you're enjoying it! I picked up a copy, but I haven't installed it yet.. I'm afraid my vid card just isn't going to cut it with the D3/HL2 generation. (of course I'm also afraid of all my free time being dominated by this )
BTW, my system is an Ahtlon XP 2800+, 512MB ram, 80Gigs, but with a Radeon 9200SE which is likely the bottleneck for performance here. Debating on waiting for the GF 6800's or X800's to come down or just bite the bullet now..
Damn you iD.

i installed it on my AMD 2200+ and GF2MX. when it loaded, it played a Q1-quality 3D animation of John Carmack laughing his ass off.
