Sooo... what about the two other sites? Maybe a new vote?

I would frankly prefer the IncoX forums over these, but I guess some of you guys wouldn't be of the same opinion...

I haven been visiting all sites. From what I understand, IncognitoX was put up for our purposes because we were losing our home. If we aren't losing our home, ppl would still be comming here and not as much IncognitoX. It's really upto to Dev and Headstone on what they want to do with it, but keep it mind. EM Forums is a gloabl community. Q3A is us. IncognitoX is us. If Q3A and IX are both around, we would only be competiting with us.

Fury, I would imagine the hosting auto renews also.

That's really my main concern too. I've been with this site since 1998, met a lot of great people, some I can proudly call my friends.

I'll make sure we all stay in touch. Hell, I could of given up when the whole Q3A/Force3D split happened, but I don't ditch friends like that.

Both would be fine by me. Seems as this would be the more gaming oriented site with InX being more free-form. I think that they could compliment each other personally.

and it looks like Edwards eagerly awaits...mouth opened...lower lip quiverring with anticipation...

/me will back his ass to the wall anytime he sees an American if those two assclowns win

But I really don't like like the international consquences regardless of who wins. This electrion is a case in point of why there should be more than two parties whereas our election showed why there SHOULD be only 2 parties...decomcracy is kind of an oxymoron when you think of it. The people are free to choose....but only from a limited selection. If you are lmited in your choices and none of them are capable of representing you (for whatever reason), is democracy really being offered? If you have 3+ parties and the winning party gets a staggering 30% of the popular vote, are they really representing the people when the majority voted for other parties?

Democracy is an illusion. It is choice that makes us think it is real.

BTW. . . can we keep politics out of at least ONE thread around here. It makes my head hurt.

No snag, that's worse, cause you mentioned hockey. . . and that gets me thinking about the fact that there probably isn't going to be a season next year. . .

Snag, the theory is sound, but the practise is not.

Even in Finland studies show a clear relationship between money invested in campaining(*) and votes received. The message is simple, the more money you blow, the more likely you are to be elected. I'm not sure that's what the people really want though, deep down.

(Sure, you could also interpret that as the more certain a candidate is of election, the more money they blow, but personally I hold the former interpretation as more likely.)

Now, I say scrap ALL forms of political funding. Kick the corporates out of politics. Each candidate, if qualifying is some suitable way (e.g. minimum number of people supporting), gets the exact same amount of TV and radio time, and the rest is up to his/her ideas and personality. THAT would be a democratic election. We'd have less spam that way too.

Sure, the voting percent would drop to like 10%, but at least those 10% would vote because they know what they want, rather than simply seeing the guy in a flashy TV commercial.

(*this was a parliament election though, not presidential)

haha...i like the grammar

I agree though. To make it all fair, they should cap the campaign budgets to ensure there are no money votes. There should also be tighter regulations as far as corporate influence...aka, no corporate campaign contributions. For a country that prides itself on minimal governmental interference in commerce, it is pure hipocrisy to allow PUBLIC corporations (let alone private) to contribute funds to a particular political party. And that is not a dig specifically at the US. Canada and many other countries allow it and it is BS. A corporation should have no say in democracy unless you are willing to make that entity itself a citizen.

We also own the d00m3.com domain name. Bini is looking into doing something with that in the future since the game is near release. More on this to come, stay tuned!

Yeah, I was thinking about that. However, I don't want the forum software to be too complicated. Something simple like what we have now, maybe with some more added features.
