For each round all the possibilities of adding two numbers together and subracting them into the original number have the exact same symbol.

Example:

21 = 2+1 : 21 - 3 = 18
45 = 4+5 : 45 - 9 = 36
82 = 8+2 : 82 - 10 = 72

Check the chart and 18, 36 & 72 all have the same symbol as do all possible combinations.

They simply change the symbols each time the game is replayed to further trick the prey.

Third time I had to figure out how it worked and after a couple seconds I noticed that pattern of 3 numbers for any combination of two digit numbers and their symbols always matched.

Pretty sneaky!
