http://www.neo-modus.com/

DC++ alternative client -> http://dcplusplus.sourceforge.net/

I'm not saying I'm interested, I'm just pointing out the best alternative I can think of.

a few of us used waste and got a little p2p thing going, its a good program if you just want to have a small amount of people sharing things. but since it was just people that i new from a privite messageboard i ended up sharing much more then i normaly do.

yes it does searches. Its a little pain in the ass to get it up and running tho, and i dont think it is officaly supported anymore. Nullsoft (winamp) took the waste site down a while ago. you can find the exe if you just google "waste-setup.exe" there might be some faq's out there aswell.

I wish DC would integrate the same type of networking that WASTE used [no need for active/passive]. That's what was great about WASTE. The GUI on the other hand was god awful!

btw....for something like UT2004 or something, we COULD always setup something like bittorrent and just post the links amongst ourselves. My only concern is that if one of us gives the .torrent to a friend and they give it to a friend and they give it to a friend...
