QNX is an operating system that loads from a single 1.44MB floppy disk giving you access to the internet via modem or NIC card. Too bad it is not offered at QNX.com anymore BUT it can be had from a cached site: http://www.tinyapps.org/system.html

Try it, you might use it for all kind of things.

I used QNX last quarter in a physics programming class. I was largely unimpressed.

and my first first 4 OS's came on floppies. IIRC, 2 of those were on 5.25" disks. And the first was probably on 300 Kb disks.

Yes I have. I have an old Tandy 1400 lt that runs on 2 floppy diskes
