Last weekend, visiting my family, my brother just happened to pick up a gamecube with the latest zelda game. It seemed not-too-bad. (kinda like the n64 zeldas. Long game, but a lot is travel. Visually quite stunning. Sounds are typical nintendo-sub-par and gameplay looked to be almost too varied but as a once-through, it looks quite promising.)I've been playing a lot of soldier of furtune II since I picked it up in january. Quite fun. I also occasionally play C&C renegade, even though it really sucks. I plan on getting Vice City soon. If you've never played the orignal GTA, definately pick one of them up. They're both loads of fun. I also want to try C&C Generals but after the debacle of Renegade's bugs, I don't think I'll be buying anything with the westwood studios name on it for quite a while. Actually, SOFII pisses me off in that I never got through the 3rd or 4th level (about an hour in) in the single player game because it crashes so much. Multiplayer is quite stable, however. (and renegade is the other way around. The SP is fairly well done but the MP is so chock full problems that it's nearly unplayable) I've never actually played it, but I overheard some people at a meeting last week talking about morrowind and it sounded very cool. -------------------- signature

MOHAA/Spearhead with occasional forays into BF1942.$50 for UT2K3 was pissed-away money. My kids STILL are SOF2 junkies. I DL'd the Planetside Beta (1.3gigs) and still haven't gotten it to work (going, going ...) I DL'd the "Postal2" beta. Now THAT was a hoot. More politically incorrect than "Kingpin". Don't know if I'd spend 50 bucks to shoot Gary Coleman and have whizzing on people until they vomit considered as a weapon, but it WAS quite amusing. -------------------- No Sig

Jondster, the 2.4b hit 3.00 ghz last night, no problem. With the Corsair PC3200 cas2 and the Abit board, you can set the FSB anywhere you want, up to 414mhz! But, since the newest processors can only handle 200 or slightly over, the board has overkill in the bus settings.2.4 ghz, 533 FSB is an "18" multiplier on a 133 mhz bus. So, I set the bus for 167, which works out to be a total of 3.006 ghz. Worked really well in everything I have tried so far! What I am really waiting for is the retail box version of the 2.4c, which is an 800 mhz bus chip, 200 mhz FSB quad pumped. According to an article that I found yesterday, the 2.4c will clock to 3.2 ghz on this same board, with a .2 volt upgrade on the CPU power settings. Plus, it will be a Hyperthreading chip, which means that once you enable this feature, your Windows 2000 or XP machine will suddenly see dual processors! Sweet! Once the 2.4c retail hits the streets, it should be in the $180 price range. Not too shabby for a 3 gig dual processor! O -------------------- ============== vidi vici veni

Give me a call anytime you like! I am incredibly happy with this motherboard. Rock solid performance so far. In UT2k3, I turned ALL of the graphics up to their highest setting. On the last two, the game said "Holy SHIT"... Had me laughing for hours! I then ran a benchmark program that runs botmatches, and tests framerate. On the Antalus board with 12 bots, I averaged 71 frames per second, with EVERYTHING turned on! Amazing. O -------------------- ============== vidi vici veni

What do I play now? Mostly, MOHAA and America's Army...with a little Quake1, Counterstrike, and MS Combat Flight Simulator 2 tossed in to break up the monotony.Truthfully, I've been hooked on AA for quite a while now. The one shot-one kill realism, real-world physics, and realistic array of weapons and scenarios makes a killer combination. Gimme a sniper rifle and I can pop craniums all day! The fact that it's free helps too When I get burned out on realism, I fire up MOH:AA (haven't tried Spearhead yet). No matter how many times I play it, I never get tired of murdering Nazi bastards. My grandfather would be so proud of me Funny thing is, I don't even have Q2 or Q3 installed on my computer right now. Since the community kind of evaporated round here, I just haven't had any interest in playing those games. But Quake1 on MY rig is a beautiful thing to behold, and I still have fun with it...even against total strangers. --------------------

Drak ~ maybe the Q3A game isn't cartoonish, but the models certainly are. At least after playing a little more realistic game like MOHAA they are. And UT2K3 is a cross between Pro Wrestling (or is that " wrasslin' " ?) and a Saturday morning jap cartoon.SOF2's physics are a bit more like Q3A in my opinion. I can run a fairly easy 2:1 or 3:1 kill/death ratio in MOHAA/SH, move to SOF2 and get my ass handed to me with regularity until I get used to it again. We probably won't run into you on MOHAA. Being the ping hog that it is, we try to stay on the NE quadrant of the country. Give me the IP of a good West Coast server and I'll see what it pings ... if it's under 100, I'll give it a whirl. Unfortunately I usually don't stick with 1 name. Lately I've been using: - Your Gay Hairdresser - The Friendly Proctologist - Your Mother - EminEnema - Maj. Luce Stewell I just noticed. 4 of the 5 involve something anal .... whew. -------------------- No Sig
