Whoa, I had an interview today for a job and it's a contract for one year in France. The job look very challenging, administering 300 servers. I just don't know if I want to go away for a whole year tough. The guy will call me back in a couple of days so that we can discuss money.... Jesus, it's scaring the shit out of me. -------------------- DGhost "Everybody knows Rocket Launchers have proximity safety sensors that lockdown the firing mechanism to prevent point blank use, not my fault, stupid game."

If you don't mind all the b.o. and perfume it sounds like a great opportunity to see the place in depth. My wife (steph) lived/worked as a model there for 6 months or so and raves about Paris. Where in France? Anyway we are probably going there for a holiday eventually. I'm in no hurry. =) I want to visit Italy as well. My younger brother is taking my father there in a few months and wants me to go too but it won't work out work schedule wise. My father hasn't been there in a bit. Anyway good luck with the deal DGhost. [ 02-07-2003: Message edited by: Cacophonous ] -------------------- ...

Well, the job would be in Paris or in Nice. I would love going there since my ancestor come from France, I mean it's like a pelerinage for me. It's just that my girlfriend would still be living in Montreal and my family/friends are all here also. But yes, it is a great opportunity and I'm really interrested in this job. Hell, 300 servers to check out for is not easy. But my girlfriend would come next summer for at least a month to live with me there and I've got 5 weeks of paid vacation with one plane ticket paid. So it's really hard to say no. Anyway it's not sure yet, I'll see next week. Here in Finland you need a premit to get a gun, for which you need to be atleast 18 (or 15 with consent of parents) years of age and also specify a legal (work, collectin, hunting) use for the gun in your application. After getting the gun one has to accuire a separate permit to keep the gun, dunno what the coorect legal term would be but it's some sort of owners permit. The law also describes at quite some length how you are allowed to carry, transport and store weapons and ammunition. Mainly always unloaded, weapon and ammo separated and prefferably locked up. You also alwayse need an acceptable reason to carry or transport a gun. I'm not sure what the law is like in France, but seems to me that it's easier not to own a gun over here. The ammount of red tabe seems to be incredible.

Burble: hahaha ok, I'll try the bat only then.. Lindi: here in canada, the law about gun is almost the same, you need a permit to get a gun and 2 people that you know must sign the papers and yes there is rules how you can carry the gun (always in the trunnk of the car) and you have reasons for that (wich is always almost for hunting) I've been raised with the idea that gun should not be available to everybody and I like that. Of course, if you really want to kill someone, you don't need a gun to do that.. :P -------------------- DGhost "Everybody knows Rocket Launchers have proximity safety sensors that lockdown the firing mechanism to prevent point blank use, not my fault, stupid game."

I dont know, maybe.. It's impossible to live in a country where there is no weapons, but I like the idea that if you want a gun you must register it. That way, it make people more responsible about it. On the other hand yes maybe a ruthless dictator could take over the world that way. Guns/weapons should be only handle by someone who grasp the idea of the terrible power it holds. -------------------- DGhost "Everybody knows Rocket Launchers have proximity safety sensors that lockdown the firing mechanism to prevent point blank use, not my fault, stupid game."

Willy - The 2 dollar a bottle Charles Shaw wine better know as 2 Buck-Chuck is now going for $2.99 at Trader Joes here in Michigan. I bought a few bottles to try out but have not opened them yet. But 2 dollar 'good' quality wine is rare and if it were not for Trader Joes it would probably be non-existent. Actually 'overall' on the average, the French wines cost much less than the California wines. Take it from someone who has purchased wine over the years from France, Italy, Chile & California. I would also add that the California wines are considered to be some of the best wines in the world. Lately I have been into Sonoma Valley (brand) Zinfandel which by the case goes for around $23.00 a bottle. Hey whatever happened to your 'if it doesn't cost $20.00 a bottle it is only for cooking with motto'? Just teasing... [ 02-16-2003: Message edited by: Cacophonous ] -------------------- ...
