Jon~ What I have found is that regular DM servers fill up quick in the evening since there are few of them live these days.My solution is to play at a server that has a few custom maps but not so many that nobody has time to download via (auto or otherwise). Velocity.net has the server/speed and maps.
http://games.velocity.net/status/?server=games.velocity.net&prot=q2s 12 maps - get them from the web page above & place them in quake2/baseq2/maps folder <- not to insult your intelligence...I forgot all this stuff. Unfortunately I ping at 300+ at that server Cy posted. The one that a few of us (Cyborg, Hatter & DGhost) played at and the second one that Jon posted: 216.46.195.222:27910 is usually not full. The first one that Jon posted is empty currently. I ping ok there too. You guys make sure you play wherever is the best for the whole. I may not even play due to something else. Ok but there are 14 people there now Cac. The server has room for 20, do we want to play each other in a crowded splash match setting?How about server side Tourney? I found a good server @ 64.83.49.69:27910 - There are 2 players there now. We will get this thing more organized soon...sorry. Going to 64.83.49.69:27910 now, if you are going somewhere else post in here and we will check in.
