Morning everyone. Haven't been here in quite a few weeks for various reasons, thought I'd check this place out again. I see Pars had the same idea Hey Daniel-san.

Hmm... well, what's happened? I've graduated from high school, had two exams (four more to go until the 21st of November), sold my house, started to move into our new one. My dad lost his job and found a new one within a week. I'm being stalked by a girl named Yolanda(!). I'm wrapping up a couple of Quake3 accessory projects (both can be seen in the below screenshots). Probably most impressive of all is that my Voodoo2 (bought in mid-1998) is still going strong and is churning out 8, 10, even 12 frames per second in Quake3.

Speaking of which, I played Quake3 today. The only two games I have are Tetris and Quake3, and I haven't played Quake3 in at least 6 or 8 months. So I played CTF against some hardcore bots with the Crystal Method, Prodigy, Chemical Brothers and Willie Nelson on Winamp in the background and I had a helluva time.

Obviously I'm a little rusty. And I still crouch when I shoot - blame it on my Action Quake2 days in 1998.

What else... what else... we just bought ourselves a brand-spankin' new Athlon 1.2GHz, 256MB, TNT2 M64( ) machine.

Well, apart from that, nothing much has been happening. Good to see Lindi, Cac, Riv and grumps keeping this place alive

It really sounds like you've got your hands full with all the exams and moving, dont think I could find the time to do any quake3 projects on the side if I had that much to do. Looking good by the looks of those shots by the way.

So who is this Yolanda? Is the stalking of the good or the bad kind?

Hehe, the Voodoo2 was the best card that 3dfx made I think, not perhaps in performance, but back then it was the chit to have. I acctually own one myslef, lent it to a friend who uses it to push the 12 FPS on he's box too.

Speaking of games, I've pretty much only played D2 lately... I think it's a couple weeks since I played CS or Q3A.

Anyway have a good one and c ya around.

Hi Ski11z

Yolanda is not good. I saw a photo of her in a past yearbook and she is a horror. I'm told I have met her but I don't recall who she was.

I think I'm going to join the thread.
I have been bussy and thinking these weeks too, I am going to leave my job as programmer and change into another one as network technical and computer-support-man in a factory.
And about the lately games, I will say you all that actually I have go back to the begining of games and I am playing Doom2 with that mod that allows you to play the game with 3D-cards, so I am playing with my old Voodoo2 (I wonder how many people still having a Voodoo).
Believe me, I enjoy more playing Doom2 again that playing with many actual games.
Perhaps I am getting old...

Cheers to you all.

Voodoo 2, Voodoo 2. . . what's that again? Oh yeah, crappy 3D Card (Actually, I liked the Voodoo based cards. . . right up until the Voodoo 4/5 series)

Well the 4/5 weree where the down hill really started, but the third generation could just not put a fight up with the TNT2's.

The only good way of dealing with stalkers, is to let them down... the hard way! :P

You are right, I just had a 16 year old girl have a crush on me. I think I did the right thing by turning her down (rather bluntly) 'cause I will be turning 26 on the 14th of this month.

If you're thinking Yolanda is a sweet Dutch girl, think again. She's a horror, like I said. Her best friends are named (get this) Manjohn (a girl) and The Lummox (also a girl). True, they are both nicknames given to these girls, but those names - Manjohn and The Lummox - just roll off the tongue

*shudder*
