Aaah, I'm behind my ISPs firewall, sucks sometimes, I cannot recieve files via ICQ or anything.

The upside is that my computer is secured 24/7.

Been there done that

You know, it also depends on what browser your using when you go to the site. Yeah, if you're running a firewall it doesn't matter. But if you aren't I've found that IE is actually a bit better than most of the others.

Oh yeah, I can't even use ICQ unless I dial down the security settings on my firewall.

On the Test my shields page, port 139 was closed and Netbios didn't exist

On the probe my ports page:

21
FTP
Closed Your computer has responded that this port exists but is currently closed to connections.

23
Telnet
Closed Your computer has responded that this port exists but is currently closed to connections.

25
SMTP
Closed Your computer has responded that this port exists but is currently closed to connections.

79
Finger
Closed Your computer has responded that this port exists but is currently closed to connections.

80
HTTP
OPEN! The web is so insecure these days that new security "exploits" are being discovered almost daily. There are many known problems with Microsoft's Personal Web Server (PWS) and its Frontpage Extensions that many people run on their personal machines. So having port 80 "open" as it is here causes intruders to wonder how much information you might be willing to give away.

^-- This one is understandably open, because I run an Apache Web Server off this computer.

110
POP3
Closed Your computer has responded that this port exists but is currently closed to connections.

113
IDENT
Closed Your computer has responded that this port exists but is currently closed to connections.

139
Net
BIOS
Stealth! There is NO EVIDENCE WHATSOEVER that a port (or even any computer) exists at this IP address!

143
IMAP
Closed Your computer has responded that this port exists but is currently closed to connections.

443
HTTPS
Closed Your computer has responded that this port exists but is currently closed to connections.

445
MSFT-DS
Closed Your computer has responded that this port exists but is currently closed to connections.

I don't have any firewalls running whatsoever and none of my ports except 80 are open. My computer is so 31337ly secure, it makes me wanna wank.

Fear, just because a port is closed that doesn't mean that your comp is secure. It means that the comp is still broadcasting a response to a ICMP request on that port.

It's when it doesn't respond at all that it's secure. Because it makes the user at the other end think that no computer exists on that port.

Attempting connection to your computer. . .
Shields UP! is now attempting to contact the Hidden Internet Server within your PC. It is likely that no one has told you that your own personal computer may now be functioning as an Internet Server with neither your knowledge nor your permission. And that it may be serving up all or many of your personal files for reading, writing, modification and even deletion by anyone, anywhere, on the Internet!
Please Note: On highly secure systems this may take up to one minute. . .

Your Internet port 139 does not appear to exist!
One or more ports on this system are operating in FULL STEALTH MODE! Standard Internet behavior requires port connection attempts to be answered with a success or refusal response. Therefore, only an attempt to connect to a nonexistent computer results in no response of either kind. But YOUR computer has DELIBERATELY CHOSEN NOT TO RESPOND (that's very cool!) which represents advanced computer and port stealthing capabilities. A machine configured in this fashion is well hardened to Internet NetBIOS attack and intrusion.

Unable to connect with NetBIOS to your computer.
All attempts to get any information from your computer have FAILED. (This is very uncommon for a Windows networking-based PC.) Relative to vulnerabilities from Windows networking, this computer appears to be VERY SECURE since it is NOT exposing ANY of its internal NetBIOS networking protocol over the Internet.

Port probe results.

Great site, gave a lot of good info. I had my Port 139 open, but it gave good details on how to close it. I knew how, but Windows never allowed me to do it right (on that page, I found out it's a bug in the 9x line.

I understand it's great to have all of them stealth, but I feel more secure (at the moment) with them all closed. Besides, I'm still on dial-up. When I get cable, then I'll worry about a firewall. Good link though.

firewalls have their bad sides...
you can't play any map you don't have on stracraft cause there's no way of DLing or hosting on battle.net with it
now to see how much work it's doing...
cool...

"There is NO EVIDENCE WHATSOEVER that a port (or even any computer) exists at this IP address!" in every port...
i'm secure

I've both hosted games (that are acctually being run on the bnet server) and downloaded patches from bnet in d2. I don't know if Starcraft is different.

All my ports were closed but port 139... which was open, and no way am I hosting a server, so I went to get Zone Alarm, and now I'm on Stealth.

Personally i use BlackICE 2.5 (Network ICE) and am still able to run a FTP server perfectly, just set your settings correctly and you're fine. Still checks connections to my ftp ports for attacks.

Haha Even Stomped.com threw me off their server!

I already knew about that site...I think Baboob gave it to me?
The first thing I did after getting online with ADSL was to install ZoneAlarm and go to that site to test it....all in stealth mode - good to go...
