lol..remember when i was joking around saying we'd need your help setting up our network? well, im not joking anymore..heh.

The fucking guy from shaw couldnt connect both of our computers to the net (apparently they dont support 2 IP's anymore..motherfuckers). So right now i'm using my friend's computer, while he's goofing off on mine. We figure that if we cant connect via our switch that we bought for fucking $70, we'll just install a second NIC on my or his computer and use windows ICS. I was just wondering, if we use ICS, would we have the same IP address? And if we did, how the freak would we setup a server (for example: q3 server)? Shaw is making me mad...meow.

I don't know anything about a switch but with a simple hub, you just plug the line coming from the cable modem into the uplink port and the computers in the other ports and set your tcp/ip to automatically obtain an ip address

ROFLMFAO.. okay. heh, we actually tried to fix it, and it fixed itself. Turns out, that we just had the stupid cables plugged into the wrong damned ports. (insert lauging here)

Everything is working fine now. The only problem we have now is the capped bandwidth. We still havent been able to break the 100kbps point... Not much to complain about. Played some UrbanTerror, and it was awesome! Heh.

I wouldn't worry about it, I think I used to get the same thing back when I had cable.

yo! hope this helps
it helped me
i just dl'd urban terror at a constant 425 the other day. both 2.0, and the 2.3 update.

the things u dl for cablem uncaps are jus reg tweaks. nothing too big. true cable uncaps go server side or some shit, and you needa hack it saying hey, gimme more bandwidth.
and oh yah foo. u should dl a huge file from somewhere before you do this so you get a taste of how it improves.
let me know how it goes

run/regedit

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\VxD\MSTCP]
"DefaultRcvWindow"="32767"

hmm..it did help

Thanks. I actually added that edit to my old computer (along with a couple more reg edits..cant remember the site where i got the info though). After i added it, i got around a 30% increase in my downstream bandwidth.

Do u know any other tweaks? cuz i do, but cant remember where i got them
