My new system screams. Holy smizzokes its fast. I played Q3 at 1024x768x32 (high everything..havent tried at higher resolutions yet...) and I couldnt believe the 100+ fps i was getting. The wait was worth it. Now i need to get a whole new arsenal of games.

Messiah, Sacrifice and Star Trek: New Worlds came with my GF3..sacrifice is pretty cool, and messiah has amazing gfx (crappy controls though). i've yet to try out star trek. does anyone have any suggestions for games i should get? im already planning to get max payne.. and some sort of racing game. i'm filled with intense happiness right now. i wub my new computer.

Right now i'm using my old computer (the 450) cuz the other one isnt configured yet to go online.. and it's too big to fit on this desk I wish you all could come over and enjoy my happiness with me. Since you all cant, i'll try to have *more* fun..heh.

Parsout~ i was reading at a different gaming site that Max Payne really isnt that hard. i mean--ppl have been beating it left and right, and some talk about being able to finish the game without even getting touched. I'll check out Operation Flashpoint. Messiah is a pretty sweet game, im beginning to get used to it. The only thing is, that it's not one of those games where you kill everything in sight

Lindi~ Yeah, im sure i could somehow connect the computers together.. but im lazy as a motherfo. hehe. it's ok..cuz once i move out, it'll be like a surprise when i get to play online with the new computer. dun wanna spoil it now, or the excitement factor would deminish to a mere 3.8

The only problem i have with the new computer is that it stalls for about 5 seconds just before windows boots up. my creative dos drivers load up, then the stall, then windows loads up. i used to have that same problem with this computer, dunno know i fixed it.

and its weird how i cant turn off my computer..lol. i go to start>>shutdown, and everything shuts down. except, my mouse and keyboard stay lit up. then, when i press a key on my keyboard, my system boots up. does anyone know what that's all about? it's not really a problem, kinda more convenient, but if i wanted to turn it off, how would i?

Dunno about the stall, what windows version are you running? In win2k it could be the boot manager.

The shutdown thingie, I think is a hibernation function... you should be able to fix that in the power saving settings, of perhaps even the bios has some options for that. Not sure though.

Look in you bios power settings for ps/2 power up or something like that. That's where I set mine to boot when I hit the space bar. What OS you running? I just started using Hibernation in Win2k instead of shut down and it's kewl. It powers down but "resumes" Windows exactly how I left it and in about half the time it takes to do a regular boot-up.

I'm using Windows98 Second Edition. What exactly is "Hibernation"? Cuz that just sounds like you've been using sleep mode. The only difference with mine is that when i shut down, the entire computer shuts down. nothing moves, just my keyboard lights up and my mouse laser is lit up. everything else is off. even the fans. is that how yours is too? cuz that sounds pretty coo how it goes straight back to windows. mine has to go through the entire boot process.
is there a way to setup a hibernation thing like that with Win98SE?
and i think the reason my computer takes a while to boot up (or it pauses for a sec) is because of my creative dos drivers loading up. i dont know why..since i dont use dos for sounds...

it's weird

Mine does the same thing when I hold the power button down for 4 seconds or so. . . check your bios and set the power saving to user defined, and make sure that anything regarding power down is NOT set to soft off, except for the power button, that's the only thing that should be.
