I am not sure about the hardware issue. I am running a PIII 700mhz, 256MB of Ram, and a GeForce 64MB card. Hopefully it will be sufficient.

What I have heard from the guys over at force3d and burial-grounds is that it is sweet. I haven't heard a single negative comment about it. I am just waiting until I upgrade my computer. I still have my old BH-6/TNT combo remember that? It just isn't good for much these days.

1 ghz? Damn, and my machine used to be HOT! Of course, that's what 2 years will do. Ugh.

pretty graphics, interesting idea, but they try to pull the whole game on the gimmick of their slowmo effects and diving move. It could have been way better. The voice acting is rather flat in the cut scenes, the game is way short, and most of the challenge lies in die-reload sequences until you just happen to hit the enemy before they hit you.
All in all, I'd say it's another big hype game that might be worth checking out in a few months when it's in the bargain bin.

hey willy have you tried new your min yet?? there is no way to use the bullet time becaues of the time restrictions but i think its still as fun as it was with the bullet time...
its a great game, even without that feature.
your opinion is wrong my friend!!!

I barely used the bullet time on my first run through the game. In fact, the only time I found it useful was when I was confronted by 3 or more enemies at once or when there was a guy behind a door. And even then, it was often a matter of save, reload until they don't hit you.
I didn't mean to say it's a terrible game. Just that it's not worth paying a lot for. It was a reasonable distraction for the 8 hours or so that it lasted. Frustrating at times, but still playable all the way through. It was way better than alice, IMNSHO.

I kinda liked the end of the credits where it basically said "This is not the end...Max will be back" or something there along that lines....insinuating sequals. I hope they come up with some other things to set that game apart like this one did (ie. bullet-time effects). Just something original to set it apart.
And as for the bullet time, it was a just damn cool idea....and as for the excessive use of it and the diving, well that is obviously just your playing style cause YOU control that! It is not like it is forced upon you.
And as for the acting being flat, what do you expect, and Academy Award winning performance? Hell, you gotta admit, the story was pretty good, if not a little cliched, but was told quite well.

Hey Acid you got a Kyro2?? Is it good?
Anyway I just got Payne and was playing it for an hour or so. I think I rather like the game, I'm trying to use the bullet time, but I seem to manage with out it too.
The graphics are nice, my Athlon 900/256 RAM/GF2MX seems to run it pretty smoothly.

Alice never appealed to me like Max did...maybe I should try it again now that I am on a more powerful computer all around...triple the MHz, tnt to gefore2, 192MB ram at 100 to 512MB at 133...yeah, I should try Alice again hehe

Alice was cool. I can't remember if I ever finished it or not. I'm surprised at the lack of fanfare Max Payne has received.
