Just thought I would toss you all a link to a nice program that detects spyware and removes the spyware and or the registry settings responsible...I had 10 instances GRRRR In my opinion that is like installing a trojan as it send data from your system without your permission. Anyhow here is the link to AdAware.

I would recommend at least "trying" it.

It found just one cookie from anyuser@doubleclick.com, the cookie came from this board and is harmless.

What kind of things did you find?

I don't understand the cookie part. . . I mean you guys have got to know that when you tell IE to delete whatever is in the net cache, it doesn't delete cookies. I go through and manually delete most of the cookies on my machine once a week. . . I save the cgi bin one from here though

I'd need advis on Anti-virus programs. I'd need one for windows2000, I'm sick and tired of these shareware messages. Problem is the software can't cost very much since I'm usually way over my budget .

I've been looking at Norton Internet secuitity, that would also include a firewall, seems fairly affordable and all. Does anybody know if it's worth it?

Lindi, I'm personally using InoculateIT... it's free but it's not your usual shareware. It's by CAI, and you get an update every two days or so.

Check it out here: http://antivirus.cai.com/
