I downloaded DX8....and with 3DMark2000, I got 2000 extra Ktriangles/sec in the single light simulation thingy. It went from 7700K triangles/sec to 9700K triangles/sec...

Quake 3 didn't notice anything... but it doesn't slow down as much when there is blood in the air

Hey Guys!

Ive been using the 7.17 + Direct x 8 Final for about 3 days and overall (in win2k) everyting is MUCH better.

But sadly, win9x is falling behind and people have been going crazy EVRYWHERE about how much it sux and wotnot.

My opinion, Win2k + DX8 + Det 7.17+ = Kickass Gaming machine!!!!!!!!!!!

win2k with directx 8 and detonator 7.17 on my tnt2 ultra card for me wasn't good... it would cause q3 to crash every time i tried the timedemo. even 3dmark2000 would crash... so i went back to 6.47 =\

hhmmm, guess I will wait until more results are in. My win2k/Q3 is still doing fine with DX7 and the stock Prophet MX drivers.
