I just installed Quake III Last night installed no problems, when I go to run the game, it goes into its resolution mode then flashes a "Windows Has found an error in quake3.exe - send data or exit" message and will not run the game. Any idead on how to fix this? this ia also happening in other games (Soldier of Fortune and Return To Castle Wolfenstien).

I am using Windows XP Pro SP1. I have uninstalled and reinstalled twice and still happends. Any clues on fixing the problems? I supposed I could always reformat and install XP again and see what happens but I want that to be a last resort. Any help would be great.

Cheers;
Moe

Have you succesfully run any games that use OpenGL? All the games you named are using OpenGL. Maybe your opengl.dll is corrupted. Or maybe it's something else.

When you start Quake3, the console that is displayed will show the logs, if you are very quick you could see what is the problem on the console (if you can read very quickly.. ).

Let start by making sure that you can run, at least, a game using OpenGl

Games that run fine are Half-Life, Starcraft, Warcraft III, Hitman II: Silent Assaign (although during game play it does reset the computer sometimes) and The Sims Thats all I can think of that I have installed.

I suppose I could go and reinstall my nvidia drivers. My video card is a GeForce 2 MX-200.
Does that help?
