i recently purchased quake 2 asia-pacific version and when i try to install it i get the error message-- THIS VERSION OF QUAKE 2 HAS NOT BEEN OPTMISIED FOR THIS LANGUAGE VERSION OF WINDOWS 95/NT, and the installation aborts. i am from INDIA and am using win 98, in US english. i have a celeron 300a computer with 160mb ram and 20gd hdd. please help. when i first installed win98 on my computer, during installation , i selected US english as the language to be used. is the problem i am facing with quake2 installation b coz of this?. please help.

Try setting you language to English (UK), I suspect that you are trying to install from a EEuropean (?) version of the disk.

Had the same problem my self, changing the language setting remedied the problem.

Just buy another copy of Quake II - I'm sure they sell pirated copies there in India

Try this. Go to Start, Settings, Control Panel, Regional Settings. Try changing the language to English (UK), or anything having to do with Asia. I had the same problem, and English (UK) worked, although you have an Asian version, so you might want to try a language similar to that.
