get a higher powered processor. It's the bottleneck of your system right now.

According to NVIDIA my Com will perform almost 200% faster with the GF3 card instead of the Voodoo5. Thats still damn good. Im not going for Raw speed. Just something that will last and give average playable FPS and HAS TECH SUPPORT AND DRIVER UPDATES. : ) IM assuming this card will be much better.

The Killer is right on the bottleneck.
You might as well save some bucks and get a Geforce 2 if you're not gonna get a faster cpu to go with the GF3. What kind of fps do you get in a q3 timedemo now with the V5?

What are the GPU/Memory frequensies of the Ti2 anyway, I think I read somewhere that the GF2Ultra is a little faster. I'm just not quite sure about this, but check it out.

I have a GeForce 3 and I am running on a P3 500, 256 MB Ram and it goes quick enough to get me in the top 5 most of the times, nr 1 sometimes.... (read: hardly ever)

Max.

Well the thing is.. looking at games on the xbox and how it uses the nVidia technology (more then likly a GF3 chipset) and only having a 733 processor i think it should run fine. Right now with the recent version of Quake3 and the new timedemo i think i got 50 FPS as the Average. Whereas my friend with a GF2 MX-200 got a 60. Sooo im sure the GF3 will deliver better performance then 50fps in quake3. I used to get 71 in the old timedemos on 1024x768. Ive also seen reviews saying the GF3 performs good on a Duron800 but even on the 1.5ghz Machines it still only uses 66% of its full power. So im assuming this card can last me a long time. Iam planning on upgraded the com. I just though i would get the more expensive thing out of the way first.

well on my 866 w/GF2 mx and everything maxed at 1024x768 I get 72+ fps in timedemo four. But, I can't stand lightmap and see no visible difference between 32bit and 16bit color so my normal settings give me 130+ fps. I've thought about a GF3 but I can live with the 130+ so I'm going to wait until I get a faster cpu. If you plan on doing that soon too I can see where you want the GF3. But I'd wait until the GF4 comes out and the GF3 should drop in price quite a bit. Or just go for the GF4.
