Ive been having a problem with Quake3 not detecting my mouse wheel and 4th mouse button. I have a Logitech MouseMan Wheel optical, and am running Windows 2000. I have Quake3 and TA 1.30. Anyone else come across this problem and found a solution?
Since the mouse is USB, I tried it as a USB mouse, but it didnt fix the problem. So I transferred it back to PS/2 with the adapter. I am not using any special Logitech drivers as far as I know, and I have no idea what version of MouseWare I have, if any. In the past though I did download and try the most current version of MouseWare and it didnt solve the problem. Ive had this problem since 1.17 I think, and I was running 98SE back then.

Usually if you leave the wheel settings alone in Q3 setup it will work fine. I've found on mine that if I go into setup and change anything at all (even keyboard binds) the wheel stops working until I close and re-start the game. As far as the 4th button goes, if you have any mouse software installed use it to bind the 4th button to F10 and then it will work for whatever you bind F10 to in Q3.

I had the same problem but was quickly resolved when I downloaded the drivers for the mouse. I have a Microsoft optical mouse and before I downloaded the drivers, quake III would not see the wheel, but once i put in the Intellipoint drivers which all fairly new microsoft mouses use then...boom...it worked!

well boys i got a fix for you. all you have to do to get your mouse weel working is set the feel back to 1.27 using this command. drop down the console and type /in_mouse -1 and restart quake it will make your weel work. if that doesnt work go into your mouse settings and make it ms office scroll compatible only in weel options. made my logic tech work good day to you
