I think he means a web interface....meaning, you make changes via a web browser (thus simplifying things greatly)

that would be great! but that would mean ID could release it and make money on it and make you upgrade to the next patch EVEN if you dont want to(team arena). did you know that you can d/l a complete server for UT and run a UT server for FREE! they release maps, models and etc for free. what was the last thing ID did for Q3 for free? oh yeah and upgrade that has been causing LOTS of problems. dont get me wrong, i play the hell out of Q3 but i dont see alot of support like epic does for UT.

If you go here you'll get an idea of what I'm looking for. I know its possible to run Q3 Q2 CS remotely but I'm not sure how to make the right calls it the server. I can get the game (q3a) to start from a web page but I can't get it to recognize any commands, .bat files or configs. My goal is to be able to change maps, gametypes, mods - basiclly what ever you can do from the command line I want the ablility to do from a web page. Any help or direction on this would be great.

hmmm...as far as i know it would require a mod to the exe since you would have to be able to port into it. Now I was thinking you could make a modded dll...but that would still require an interface of sorts to directly communicate with the console (plus that would mean it wouldn't be pure). The only way I could see something like this happening without id intervention would be on a linux box for obvious reasons (aka, much more control over your system)
