Whenever I click the multiplayer button in Quake III: Arena, it just freezes. I have tried reinstalling Q3 and waiting to see if it was just loading. But I waited for 30 mins and nothing happened. It was still frozen. What’s going on?

You don't by any chance have ZoneAlarm or any other firewall running do you? I know how to work around it with ZoneAlarm.

Yeah, it probably has to do with not being able to access the internet properly. A firewall would do it

If it's zone alarm, then you have a message waiting for you to answer, so it puts quake 3 on pause...

I could tell you the fix, but I won't cause that would be playing out of suit.

This is what I do. Start the game and go to "settings/system" and clcik off full screen and accept. Once Q3 is in a window, hit multiplayer and you will then be able to see ZA's pop up window asking if you want Q3.exe to have access to the net. Click ok and then go back to your system settings and turn full screen back on. You should then be fine until you ever re-install q3 or ZA
