Hello guys, i was wondering which precessor preforms better in games such as Q3, also, more compatible with existing hardware. I am planning to buy or build a new comp, but wondering if an AMD is the right choice.

Thanx guys, also is there a site where they rate systems? if anyone knows of one, please notify me.

well...the only bad thing I've heard about AMD is that it requires a VIA chipset , and that chipset don't work with some Matrox cards..

Athlons have better FPU then P3's. They don't require the VIA chipset, it's just the VIA is the most often used in Mobos for it.

The only probelms I've ever heard of with Athlons, are voltage problems, and that only with the older ones.

Hate to say it but if you get one of the new EB core (.18 Micron Coppermine with full Spped 256k cache) you'll be rocking better with an Intel, Sucks I know I've used AMD for years and I just upgraded to Intel cause I needed the Rendering power
