I ride motorcycles, bikes, kayak a little, sail every now and then and get out west to go skiing every chance I get. Most of what I do on computers these days is edit photos, video, drone shots and maintain my websites. Not much game playing going on, but I did just buy one of my daughters a new Oculus Quest 2 VR headset for Christmas that I'm looking forward to playing with.
Good summary! Guess we should all share: - 39, living in Plano, TX - Found a wife who will accept me 2 kids with her - son who just turned 6, daughter who is about to turn 4. Have another daughter in Seattle who is 14 - Doing consulting on Salesforce Commerce Cloud - looking into getting into other aspects of the SF ecosystem - Work out daily - was a big half/full marathon runner, but have since scaled back into running for fitness. Also do Crossfit/functional fitness out of our home gym (built well before 2020 happened) - Love the beach. Really enjoy snowboarding but have only been ~3 times, have 2 trips planned for winter - Son loves video games - he plays my old N64 at my mom's house, and we have video game Sundays with my old Xbox 360. He'll be a gamer when he's not busy doing athletic stuff for sure!

Howdy Rogue, Double, Drako, and Max!Let’s see here... 56 years old on the 15th of June. Living in Floral City, FL with my wife in a nice house with a pool in the back porch. I was working for a French company that is an IT service provider. I specialize in automation, running code (and writing it) on every platform imaginable, Unix, Linux, windows, mainframe, Tandem, etc. File transfers, encryption, and so forth. My specialty is Control-M, a Workload Automation tool from BMC Software. BMC just offered me a position that will effectively double my salary, so I have put in my notice as of yesterday. I will be starting with them at the end of the month. A nice birthday present for me... It sounds like you all are doing well, I’m so happy for all of you! -------------------- ============== vidi vici veni

Howdy all - from Norway.Raverboy didn't respond to my e-mail either ;-) Nice to see you're still all around! I'm still living in Oslo, 47 years old now - married and got a son that will turn 9 this summer.. man how time flies... My old company got acquired by a Nordic company group about 8 years ago, so I'm now running the Norwegian company. Still a gamer at heart, but hardly any time any more (except playing lots of Roblox with my son). On the plus side - I've discovered mountain biking and hiking - I guess those are better options for staying healthy (and pandemic friendly activities) Take care & stay safe!

It's 2021 and I'm still locked in. Not by the zombie apocalypse, or anything, but by choice / depression. 36 now. No kids, no girlfriend. Been working as an automotive infotainment software developer / embedded system engineer for the last 11 years. Sort of volunteered to become the web / Linux IT guy at work. Inherited the entire software kingdom at the company and had to start building a new team. Lately watching a lot of Twitch. Got addicted to Minecraft this year finally. Occasionally play games on my friends' streams, like Phasmophobia, Gartic Phone, and Crab Game. Might start streaming at some point too. In my spare time, not that I have any, I make games. Or used to, and kinda want to make a new one. Dabbling in Unreal Engine to try and make something happen..eventually...maybe. Kind of all over the place. Jackass of all trades, you could say.

RagingBITCH - lived in Plano for a few years. Plain ol' Plano! It was fun and low-key, a really good place to settle down.Drako - what languages do you work in? I'm not familiar with SF stuff. Oicu - congrats on the offer! Automation work sounds cool. Have you played any construction games like Factorio or Satisfactory? I just got into Satisfactory like a wee ago. Riv - how's hiking up there? I bet its amazing. I got into hiking myself and absolutely love hiking just about any mountain. fury - let me know when you start streaming. I'll watch. I follow some Twitch folks myself. As for me, I grew up, lost a bunch of weight, still a programmer, still a nerd. Not much to say, really. --------------------

I'm specializing in automation software, which runs on just about every platform and software package that clients use. Mainframes, Windows, Linux, Aix, Solaris, HP/UX, Tandems, databases, SAP, Peoplesoft, Hadoop, Cloud (AWS, Azure, Google), Informatica, Kubernetes, file transfers, REST, SOAP, API integration, etc. etc.
It's called Control-M from BMC Software. It's really a higher level programming language, because I can run jobs against any of these, parse information from that run, and pass that info to another job somewhere else in the world. It turns individual jobs into subroutines. You can build true Enterprise level applications this way with real time monitoring and SLA management. It's cool stuff. I've not played with either of those games, but I will check them out and post back here! -------------------- ============== vidi vici veni
