I'm being truthful with you here mate, don't waste your time. Quake3 is what, three or four years old now? You just have to have a look at this place and Quake3World to see that Q3:A is past its prime.

If you put time and effort into developing a site devoted to Q3:A you'll just end up disappointed.

If you really want to start a major community gaming site, focus on a newer game. Even Unreal Tournament 2k3 is long in the tooth by today's standards. It seems that in order to have a successful site you need to focus around a game so new that it hasn't even come out yet - Unreal 2 and Doom 3, for example.

All that said, if you really want to go ahead with this, all the best of luck

I agree with what Redlemons says. Even planquake.com has lost a lot of readers. You have to be a true hardcore fan to run a site dedicated to Quake only. But I respect that.. If you feel not up to it, I sure could use some help here on q3arena.com But if not, I wish you best of luck on your site!

well this site is not mine. I have no power over the decision of merging this site or not. Actually the owner of q3arena.com doesn't have the time to work on it anymore. Mainly, q3arena.com is dedicated to post news about any ID games or using the ID engines (except half life). I'm all alone to post news so I don't have the time to check all the games. I only post news of quake 3 now (mostly). Most of the times, people who start doing this job leave after 2-3 months (it's been more than one year since I work on this site, I'm a pure hardcore.. :P). So I can't propose to merge this site. Beside, the database being this site is pretty old and I don't want to change the code of it. I would like, tough, to do some cleaning on the front page with all these obsolete quake 2 mods that was never finished. Maybe the owner of the site will allow access to the code soon (I should ask him).
